It is essential that we utilize our existing building stock, rather than constantly building new - but much of our buildings are outdated and unable to perform in the face of rising temperatures, bad air quality, and other climate change stressors. We need to bring last century-old buildings into the Twenty-first Century, that are better equipped to perform in less than ideal environmental conditions without overconsumption of fossil fuels or putting more strain on our energy grid. Learn more about how we can transform our existing building stock with RMI's large building retrofit playbook here...
🚀 Introducing the New Retrofit Playbook for Large Buildings! 🌟 RMI, in collaboration with NYSERDA, Building Energy Exchange, and Urban Land Institute, has rolled out a new collection of resources: The Retrofit Playbook for Large Buildings. So watt’s the solution? This story by the NYT sheds light on a central thematic for Galvanize Real Estate and supports our belief that there is enormous, untapped potential to leverage commercial real estate in a decentralized format that profitably decarbonizes existing building stock. This will reduce pressure on a grid that struggles to support a surge in urgently needed climate-positive transitions.
