A unique element of this year's Diploma is that it will have a new module focusing on the governance of technology. Learning outcomes for this module include:
- Assessing and managing IT-related risk, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards, and establishing appropriate controls and frameworks (e.g. DORA, Digital Services Act, AI Act, etc.);
- Understand the impact of emerging technologies on business operations and the board's role in guiding digital transformation initiatives, including considerations for innovation, disruption, and agility;
- Assessing operational resilience, including assessing cyber risks, monitoring security policies and procedures, and responding to security incidents;
- Understand technical debt and its implications for strategy, operations, employee morale, and risk; and
- Recognize the ethical and legal issues related to technology governance, including data privacy, digital services, intellectual property rights, ethical use of data and technology, and artificial intelligence.
This Diploma starts in September.
