*Why the Bengali Community Celebrates Mahalaya: Lessons for Our Corporate Life* Mahalaya marks the beginning of Durga Puja celebrations in Bengal. It’s the day when we invoke Goddess Durga to descend from her heavenly abode, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil, and the start of new beginnings. The air fills with anticipation, joy, and hope, reminding us of the power of unity, strength, and perseverance. In our corporate lives, Mahalaya inspires us to embrace change with optimism, overcome challenges with resilience, and lead with empathy. Just as the community comes together in anticipation of the festival, organizations thrive when we nurture collective spirit, share common goals, and celebrate victories – big or small. So, as we celebrate Mahalaya, let’s invoke these same emotions at work: - 🌟 *New Beginnings:* Every project, like Mahalaya, is a fresh start. - 💪 *Overcoming Challenges:* Channel the courage to face obstacles and rise above them. - 🤝 *Unity in Diversity:* Success comes when we collaborate and embrace every individual’s unique strengths. - 💼 *Empathy & Leadership:* Lead with compassion, just as Maa Durga symbolizes care and protection. Asmita (अस्मिता / ଅସ୍ମିତା): Embracing Identity for World Peace, Personal Growth, and a Startup Mindset "Asmita" signifies identity, self-respect, and pride. Being honored with the Odia Asmita (ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଅସ୍ମିତା) highlights the rich cultural heritage and values that shape one's true self. Every 12 years, the city of Prayagraj transforms into a hub of devotion, culture, and unparalleled human management as it hosts the Kumbh Mela, the largest spiritual gathering in the world. Millions converge at the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mystical Saraswati, embodying India’s timeless spirit of aastha (faith). But beyond the chants of "Har Har Gange", the Kumbh Mela is a marvel of economic impact and operational excellence. Did you know? 1️⃣ 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁: The Kumbh generates thousands of jobs, from local vendors to event managers, contributing significantly to the regional economy. Tourism surges as pilgrims, both domestic and international, pour in, creating ripple effects in hospitality, transportation, and retail. 2️⃣ 𝗨𝗻𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Hosting millions isn't easy! Temporary infrastructures like tent cities, sanitation systems, and healthcare facilities spring up, rivaling the planning required for major global events. It's a lesson in project management on a monumental scale. 3️⃣ 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆: People from all walks of life gather here, showcasing India’s inclusiveness. The sight of sadhus, international tourists, and locals sharing a sacred space is heartwarming proof of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" – the world is one family. For a pilgrim, this journey is transformative. For a spectator, it's awe-inspiring. For an entrepreneur or economist, it's a goldmine of insights into how faith can drive an entire ecosystem. As we celebrate this timeless tradition, it’s worth reflecting on the immense power of culture and faith in shaping a nation’s identity and economy. Have you ever been to a Kumbh Mela? #HarHarGange #KumbhMela #India #FaithEconomy #ManagementMarvel #Prayagraj #SpiritualJourney

Ghee’s remarkable journey from being shunned and dismissed to being celebrated as a superfood is just one captivating glimpse into the larger story of India’s ongoing rediscovery of its own cultural treasures and rich heritage. As we wholeheartedly embrace the transformative “look inward” movement, it’s about much more than just products—it’s fundamentally about owning our narrative, sharing our ancient wisdom, and presenting it to the world in a way that truly reflects its profound value and significance. #BhikshavrittiUtsav #IndianEmbodiedKnowledge #Rediscovery #Recovery #Reconnect #Restore #Revive #Regain #Reimagine As Jeevika Ashram celebrates the First Bhikshavritti Utsav in the village of Indrana near Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh today onwards for 3 days, see the video by Akanksha Damini Joshi sharing it's first visuals & sounds. And read- The Forgotten Threshold - Bhikṣāvṛtti and the The Vanished Wisdom of India’s Wanderers by Anurag Shukla in Brhat | Bṛhat | बृहत् . https://lnkd.in/gaecFVK4 "Today, as we sift through fragments of historical memory, the story of Bhikṣāvṛtti illuminates a society that thrived on cooperation, knowledge-sharing, and symbiotic living. But it also exposes the harsh realities of historical amnesia and epistemicide—the deliberate erasure of Indigenous knowledge systems under colonial rule. This story attempts to revive that legacy, told not as a lament but as a lesson for reimagining India’s civilizational wisdom. The story of Bhikṣāvṛtti is a powerful reminder that India’s strength lies in its plurality and its ability to weave knowledge, economy, and culture into everyday life. It challenges us to question the historical amnesia imposed on us and to resist epistemicide – the death of Indigenous ways of knowing. The spirit of bhikṣāvṛtti still whispers in India’s heartlands—in the wandering folk singers, the artisans who repair tools, and the healers who work without clinics. In remembering bhikṣāvṛtti, we remember a time when society’s purpose was not accumulation but connection—when the wandering seeker was a reflection of the community’s soul. And perhaps, in that remembering, we can glimpse a path forward—one where dignity, reciprocity, and wisdom guide us once more. Today, as we witness a resurgence of interest in India’s knowledge systems, Bhikṣāvṛtti stands as a beacon of how societies can coexist harmoniously, thrive economically, and live with dignity. Let this not remain a story of the past but inspire a movement to rediscover, restore, and reimagine the forgotten legacies of India. In the words of Dharampal ji, “The recovery of our past is not for nostalgia, but for a vision that can guide our future.”"
