🌟 What an inspiring and insightful experience at the TechMosaic event by Immigrant Techies Alberta! 🌟 One of the biggest highlights for me was the breakout session where Ben Mitchell shared his thoughts on the evolution of cloud computing and how companies are leveraging it to enhance efficiency while driving down costs. I was fascinated by some of the innovative use cases he mentioned, like: Facial recognition for pigs to accurately map gestation periods—what an incredible application of technology in agriculture! Using a weather API with GPS to calculate the most efficient travel routes where cold temperatures prevail, thus reducing both travel time and costs associated with cold storage. This session really broadened my view on how technology can be applied in such diverse and unexpected ways across industries. Another standout moment for me was the panel discussion on how employers think while hiring or scouting for talent. It gave me valuable insight into the employer's perspective, especially when Minaoar Hossain Tanzil emphasized that finding the right fit is a two-way street—it's about being selective and intentional when applying for roles, rather than applying for every job that comes along. I also learned some exciting news from Brad Perry, who spoke about the collaborative efforts to transform Calgary from being seen as just an oil and gas city into a hub for diverse industries and opportunities. It’s inspiring to see the momentum building in our city for new growth and innovation! TechMosaic left me with new ideas, fresh perspectives, and a renewed excitement for the future of technology and the role it plays across industries. 🚀 #TechMosaic #CloudComputing #Innovation #CareerDevelopment #HiringTrends #CalgaryTransformation #TechnologyInEveryway #LearningAndGrowing #FutureOfWork

Do you remember the ice-breaking game we played during the LandShift kick-off meeting? 🎴 Our project coordinator, ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence, handed out #cards with various illustrations. Each partner shared their interpretation, connecting the images to LandShift’s objectives and challenges. From all the numerous options, #one card that truly captures the #essence of the LandShift Project is the one showcasing a #Lighthouse. 🗼 Why? LandShift envisions becoming a leading model for #climate-#resilient #land-#use #management, showing how to balance nature protection with human development. Just like a lighthouse guides the way, LandShift aims to establish a network of ‘#Lighthouses for #Climate-#Resilient #Land-#Use #Management’, demonstrating how land can be used efficiently, ecosystems restored and preserved, and #communities made resilient to the impacts of #climate #change. Stay tuned as we gradually light the path toward a sustainable future! 💡 #LandShift #ClimateResilience #SustainableLandUse #Collaboration #NewEuropeanBauhaus #HorizonEurope #Research, European Research Executive Agency (REA)

Systemica was founded with the goal of strengthening socio-environmental commitment, transforming territories, and developing communities. 🌳 ➡️ And this goal is directly reflected in all our projects. Before starting any project, we use our proprietary software, with innovative technology developed by our specialists, to perform land analyses, apply methodological approaches to the territory, conduct score classifications, and estimate the carbon assets to be generated. The software enables us to map risks and manage projects with greater precision, integrating data from different areas. 💻 In this way, when we find a region with potential, our directors and coordinators visit the site to get to know its characteristics and opportunities firsthand. ➡️ These on-site visits ensure deep and humanized knowledge, acting as a guide for our coordinators. During field visits, meetings are also held with community leaders and the community at large. Indeed, throughout the execution of the projects, the work is carried out in compliance and partnership with the local population. Based on the results obtained from the software analyses and visits to the locality, an action plan is developed for each territory. These plans, which are produced together with the community members, aim to promote environmental and social improvements within a study of life and biological diversity, benefiting biodiversity, local communities, and their future generations. Today, we have already conserved more than 300,000 hectares of areas! And this is what Systemica calls the Theory of Change, a methodology of transformation fostered by carbon credits. 🌱
