Nationwide Bharat Bandh Called by Dalit and Adivasi Groups Today Today, Dalit and Adivasi organizations have initiated a nationwide strike, the 'Bharat Bandh,' demanding enhanced representation and protections for marginalized communities. This comes in response to a recent Supreme Court judgment on SC/ST reservations, which these groups believe could undermine their progress. Prominent political entities like the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), and the Bahujan Samaj Party have shown solidarity, voicing concerns that the ruling contradicts the foundational principles established in the landmark Indira Sawhney case. Leaders from these parties have called for active participation across their networks to support this critical cause. As professionals committed to social justice and equity, it's crucial we stay informed and engage in discussions around such significant movements. #SocialJustice #BharatBandh #Inclusion #DiversityAndInclusion #Leadership

"🚨 Unacceptable! 🚨 Newly elected MP from Sitamarhi, Bihar, declares he won't work for Yadavs and Muslims. This goes against the core values of our Constitution, specifically Articles 14 and 15, which ensure equality and non-discrimination. 🇮🇳 #EqualityForAll #ConstitutionalRights #StopDiscrimination #IndianPolitics #JDU #Sitamarhi"

The general election in Odisha has been quite interesting this time. A common perception and belief is that where voters are backward or the literacy rate is low, there is bigotry, and politics based on religion and other personal issues happens. Consequently, politicians never talk about developmental work or individual benefits during elections. BJP does that in every state and has broadly failed in developed South India but succeeded in comparatively less developed North India. However, Odisha is a peculiar state. The state is backward, with a low literacy rate, and has 25 years of anti-incumbency of the state government. Despite BJP starting politics on religious issues, state pride, and dividing people on the basis of language and culture, the ruling BJD has successfully dragged BJP back to talk about development rather than these bigotries. This does not imply BJD has never used religion to shine in their politics, but BJD's style is a little different. They never go all out with religious issues; they use it as a pinch of salt according to the taste. Let's wait for the result on June 4th. Interesting times ahead.#GeneralElection2024

My Inspiration from Dr. Ambedkar emphasized that democracy in India must go beyond politics, embodying the principles of liberty, equality, and fraternity in everyday life. While our people have embraced the electoral process, true democracy has been hindered by corruption, nepotism, and the concentration of power. Political leaders, instead of serving, have often acted like modern kings, leading to widespread poverty, rural neglect, and social disparities. India’s democratic journey, now 76 years old, still faces significant challenges, including underdeveloped villages, poor infrastructure, and inequitable resource distribution. However, there's hope as the government increases its focus on education and rural development. For democracy to thrive, it requires good governance, responsible leadership, and an informed citizenry committed to progress. #indianconstitution #constitutionofindian #drambedkar #socialworker
