🌱 Exciting Collaboration with CFIA on Enoki Mushroom Safety! 🍄 At Nebo Mushrooms, we are thrilled to be working alongside the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) on groundbreaking research aimed at improving food safety in enoki mushrooms. CFIA is conducting laboratory-based research on the growth of Listeria monocytogenes in enoki mushrooms, with a focus on understanding the factors that influence its growth and processing in manufacturing facilities. This collaboration will help fill a critical gap in knowledge, addressing the risks associated with this pathogen in enoki mushrooms and other specialty mushrooms. While the research was initially sparked by the higher prevalence of Listeria monocytogenes in imported enoki mushrooms, we believe that studying the processes within Canadian manufacturing plants will provide valuable insights to enhance food safety across the industry.
