The 2024 Global Transportation Management Benchmark Survey by Descartes has once again confirmed that visibility is a game-changer for logistics. For the seventh consecutive year, real-time transportation visibility is identified as the top capability for effective management. This is a clear call for logistics service providers and shippers to enhance their visibility tools. The highlights from the survey 👇 👉 Real-time visibility: 42% of respondents rank real-time visibility as the top capability for effective transportation management. 👉 technology use: top solutions include GPS tracking (52%) and carrier status portals (51%). However, over a third still use outdated methods like spreadsheets (37%). 👉 fleet routing: increasing in importance, now a top capability for value, especially among companies viewing transportation as a "Competitive Weapon." 👉 investment trends: "Top Performers" focus on advanced technologies and increased IT investments, while "Poorer Performers" are more cost-cutting oriented. As the industry faces ongoing disruptions, prioritizing visibility and modern technology is key to gaining a competitive edge. #AsstrA #globallogistics #transportationmanagement
