We're building the Internet of Trees (IoT)! Excited to announce Dryad Networks 3rd generation of #Silvanet #LoRaWAN gateways. This is a real breakthrough for us and will be the basis for our growth and expansion of the sensor product portfolio. Key features: - Fully industrialized, designed for manufacturing: enabling scaled production - Built-in direct-to-satellite connectivity for both border and mesh gateways: connect gateways anywhere in Europe or North solar input and redundancy of power supply. - 30% increased supercapacitors: Ensure continuous operations during nighttime even under challenging deployments under the tree canopy. - Built-in antennas, removing any external antennas: ruggedized housing, eliminating fragile external components and enabling waterproofing. - External SIM card slot: Enabling end-users to override the built-in global SIM card without opening the device. Improved radio range: Requires fewer gateways for large-scale mesh deployments. - IP67 compliant: take it in a bathtub, dunk it under water and it will continue to work. - NFC: registering, triggering self-tests and reconfiguring settings using the mobile companion app on the installer's mobile phone. - New installation bracket: Making installation on trees easier and safer. Available immediately for order through our authorized resellers, first shipment planned for October. https://lnkd.in/duufhTDP

Over 50% of the world’s population now lives in urban areas, with the World Bank forecasting that city populations will reach six billion by 2045. As urban transportation complexity increases, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) are more crucial than ever. While traditional ITS relies on field devices and fibre optic networks to collect traffic data, advancements in technology are shifting the focus toward Connected and Automated Vehicle (CAV) technologies, marking a significant leap forward in the field. Hamid Torfeh Nejad and Grant Saunders will introduce Connected Vehicle-Based (CV-Based) ITS Infrastructure and demonstrate how this proactive data-driven technology integrates with smart city initiatives to create more dynamic and adaptable urban infrastructure. This presentation will highlight SMEC’s dedication to advancing global transport innovation at the 30th ITS World Congress. 🚛 #Electrictrucks are hitting the roads everywhere, and soon enough we will see more fleets transitioning to battery-electric trucks to achieve the 🇪🇺 #European and 🇫🇷 #French transport decarbonization targets. This uptake will pose challenges to local electricity grids ⚡ . While #grid expansion will be eventually needed to accommodate this additional power demand, smart charging can help alleviate this problem in the short- to mid-term, better utilizing existing grid capacities and reducing the grid expansion investment costs. We're collaborating with Artelys and the Regulatory Assistance Project (RAP) on demonstrating those benefits in the region of #Essone, south of #Paris 🇫🇷 .Detailed analysis and results to come over the next few months.
📢 Artelys is excited to announce the start of a new study on behalf of the Regulatory Assistance Project (RAP) and The International Council on Clean Transportation, aiming to quantify the grid savings enabled by the smart charging of electric vehicles by 2040. 💡 The expected acceleration of the deployment of electric cars and trucks is a major challenge for electricity distribution networks, which need to be reinforced and used more efficiently. Smart charging, by allowing electric vehicles to be charged in a system-friendly way, allows to (a) reduce or defer grid investments, (b) limit the need for peak production capacity, and (c) save money for the end-consumers. Recognising Artelys’ expertise in the modelling of electric mobility impacts on the simulation of distribution grids, RAP and ICCT have tasked our experts with the development of an illustrative case-study quantifying the benefits of an ambitious deployment of smart charging capabilities on the need for grid reinforcement. Follow us to hear about the results! Dr. Julia Hildermeier Andreas Jahn Pierre-Louis Ragon Marie Rajon Bernard Hussein Basma, Ph.D. Claire Lucas Marin Dilé Léo Quignon
