Here are some fascinating insights: Religious Tourism & Pilgrimage: India is home to some of the world's largest pilgrimage destinations. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) generates over ₹3,000 crore annually from offerings, tickets, and donations. Kumbh Mela, one of the largest religious gatherings globally, generates ₹12,000 crore ($1.5 billion) during the event, fueled by tourism, hospitality, and transportation. Charitable Contributions & Religious Trusts: India’s major religious institutions contribute billions to social causes: Shirdi Sai Baba Temple generates ₹500 crore annually. Vaishno Devi Shrine earns over ₹600 crore annually. ISKCON manages over ₹200 crore in charitable activities annually, supporting healthcare, education, and welfare.
