As we celebrate Father’s Day, I reflect on the invaluable lessons my dad instilled in me, which continue to guide my professional journey: 1. Be Principled - Do the Right Thing My dad always emphasised the importance of integrity. In my career, I strive to uphold ethical standards and make decisions that are not just beneficial but morally sound. 2. Keep Your Words A promise is a commitment. He taught me the significance of being reliable and trustworthy. In business, honoring your commitments fosters trust and respect. 3. Do Your Best Always put your best foot forward,” he would say. This principle drives me to excel in every task, ensuring that I deliver quality and exceed expectations. 4. Go the Extra Mile, Especially in Servicing Others My dad’s approach to service was always about going beyond the ordinary. In my work, I aim to provide exceptional value and exceed client expectations, creating lasting relationships. 5. Hard Work & Tawakkal is Always the Answer He believes in working hard while placing trust in a higher plan. 🎅 Stepping into Santa’s Shoes – A Lesson in Confidence and Connection 🎅 This Sunday, I stepped out of my comfort zone in the most unexpected way—I became Santa Claus for a day! 🎄 It all started when I accompanied my mom to the Sacred Heart Church near Connaught Place for their winter carnival. The current Santa was tired, and my mom turned to me and asked, "Why don’t you give it a shot?" As an introverted and reserved person, my first instinct was to say no, but something made me say yes. What followed was an unforgettable experience. The Santa mask limited my vision (I was nearly blind in one eye!), but the real challenge was interacting with strangers—something I typically avoid. Yet, as Santa, I had to be jolly, greet everyone warmly, and hand out toffees to excited kids. Surprisingly, the kids didn’t see “me” at all. They saw Santa Claus. Their joy and excitement taught me a powerful lesson: 🌟 Confidence and a positive first impression can truly change outcomes. 🌟 Connection begins when we shed our doubts and embrace the moment. If a shy, introverted person like me can channel the spirit of Santa, we all have the potential to step into roles we never imagined and make a meaningful impact—on others and ourselves. This experience reminded me that sometimes, we need to wear a “different hat” (or mask!) to uncover new parts of ourselves.
