The below map gives some context as to why Delhi ranks as the busiest airport in India. Majority of the International airports in Northern India including cities like Chandigarh, Lucknow, Jaipur, Varanasi and Amritsar have limited capacity to meet demands in respective cities. With Noida International Airport, slated to be the largest airport in India, ready to open later in Q3 of this year, the volume of outbound travel will continue to grow and expand beyond metros and the biggest stakeholders in the growth trajectory will be the unsung heroes - Tier 3 cities of India.

71 km of the Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway in Karnataka set to launch by November A key 71-kilometer section of the Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway, passing through Karnataka, is set to open by the end of November 2024. This announcement comes from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), marking an important step forward in the completion of the project. The expressway, which will span a total of 260 kilometers, connects Bengaluru and Chennai, significantly reducing travel time between the two cities. The stretch in Karnataka has faced some delays, primarily due to the need to relocate a temple near Hoskote, at Jinnagara Cross. Now that the temple has been moved, construction work has resumed at full pace. According to Vilas P. Brahmankar, NHAI's Bengaluru Regional Officer, the entire Karnataka portion of the expressway is complete, with only a 400-meter stretch left to finish. #Bengaluru #Chennai #Expressway #Karnataka #launch #November #NHAI #karnataka #Hoskote #JinnagaraCross #Brahmankar #travel #traveling #traveladvisor #travelindustry #travelagent TraveLICE

Airports have become crucial for retail as the travel industry continues to grow. Expectations from travellers are high. High competition from brands requires numerous presentations to secure a bid. Varied consumer tastes require different box sizes, products, and distinct packaging. Airport stores operate 24/7, necessitating a team rotation system with three shifts to ensure each member experiences both peak and off-peak times. Material movement is restricted to off-peak hours to avoid disrupting passenger flow. All sorts of odds are stacked against airport retail stores succeeding. Yet, some do. As a local brand, we perform best at Bengaluru airports, both domestic and international. Cochin is our second-best, followed by Ahmedabad and other airports. Our focus on regional products includes: →Bangalore Domestic: Mysore Pak, Dharwad Peda, and special packs from Karnataka, Andhra, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. →Bangalore International: Curated gift packs representing various Indian regions, such as Channapatna Box, Western India Box, Northern India Box, Central India Box, and Millet Box. →Ahmedabad: Mohanthal, Fafda, and Khakhra. Our top seller? South India’s very own Mysore Pak. Followed by curated gift and regional special packs. I’ve learnt a lot operating retail in Airports across India. And most of all, it reminded me that yes, it is tough, but also rewarding at the same time. #AnandAtAirports #RegionalSweets #TravelIndustry

Air travel has become an integral part of daily life, making airport development essential. To understand the current state of airport development in Kerala, one need only examine the conditions at Kannur, Thiruvananthapuram, and Karipur airports. When the Adani Group took over Thiruvananthapuram Airport, it faced significant criticism. However, it is now preparing to implement an international terminal development project with state-of-the-art facilities. Over the past three years, Thiruvananthapuram Airport has seen notable increases in passenger numbers and revenue. With more available land, further development could have included even more facilities. The expansion project, named 'Project Anantha', will include a new terminal, a five-star hotel, spacious parking and other improved facilities, at an investment of ₹1300 crore and is expected to accommodate 12 million passengers annually. Nedumbassery is leading the development of airports in the state, having risen to its current status with government support. Airports must not only be constructed on a grand scale but also be capable of receiving flights and providing maximum convenience for passengers. The Kerala Pravasi Association recommends that governments prioritize the development of existing airports while also advancing efforts to establish new ones. . . #AirTravel #AirportDevelopment #KeralaAirports #Thiruvananthapuram #ProjectAnantha #AdaniGroup #PassengerGrowth #AviationIndustry #InfrastructureInvestment

I always had this idea. Why don't newspapers have only good news on the front and last page? It helps us to begin the day on a positive note. Similarly, many cities put in enormous branding efforts, specially at key locations like airports. When you land in Lucknow airport, you will be welcome with a request to Smile. ‘Muskuraiye ki aap Lucknow me hain’ (Smile because you are in Lucknow). The honey laden Avadh hindi accent of people around adds that required punch to the smile as you come out of the arrival terminal. It is my third or fourth trip to this place, and I smile every time. Such a positive begining. Other than the routine ‘I Love my city’, what other positive or good ideas in place branding have you come across? Do share. #branding #positivity #tourism
