How is it made? For many plastic products, it's by using injection molding. Here's how it works: (1.) Creating the Mold: Imagine a mold as a special, custom-made hollow form that looks like the product you want to make. For example, if you want to make a plastic toy, the mold will have a cavity shaped like that toy. (2.) Melting the Plastic: Plastic materials, often in the form of tiny pellets, are heated until they melt into a thick, gooey liquid. (3.) Injecting the Plastic: This melted plastic is then injected into the mold using high pressure. It flows into every corner and crevice of the mold, taking its shape. (4.) Cooling and Hardening: The mold is cooled down, usually with water or air. As the plastic cools, it hardens and solidifies, keeping the shape of the mold. (5.) Ejecting the Product: Once the plastic has completely hardened, the mold is opened, and the finished product is ejected. The product is now in the exact shape of the mold cavity. (6.) Trimming and Finishing: Sometimes, the product might need a bit of trimming or additional finishing to remove any excess plastic or to smooth out rough edges. And that's the basic process!
