During the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival (NIFFF) we discovered "Schirkoa: In Lies We Trust", an animation movie made with Unreal Engine. We talked with the director, Ishan Shukla, and learned about his approach on how to bring his vision to the screens, including the ups and downs. All in all, it's an invitation to filmmakers to experiment with new tools to be able to tell their stories in their own unique ways. Experiment... build it ... break it and make it work for your vision. ... following up the last post you all like so much on the behind the scenes of some Snorricam experimentations the directing duo (Adil & Bilall), actors (Will & Martin) cinematographer (Robert Hayvaert) and grip team on Bad Boys 4. The Snorricam post was so popular we get another look at the earlier experimentation phase of the test rigging and tryouts for the rig with Will. You can see how the early iteration hit a snag and when the flip track extension hits its end mark it fails. Thats why we build rigs and break things before we get on set. Between the first video I posted from onset and this earlier one you can see how the team engineered the final solution to get it all right. If you geek frame it you can see the component change out from the skunk works version to the principal rig. Everyone joked if Will would get credits for a few things he even calls it out in this one jokingly about performing, operating camera & crafty :) Props to all the amazing talent on and behind camera on this one and the visual effects teams as well.
