Day 2 of posting my Learnings at NextLeap Most of the time, we are surrounded by ample opportunities. But how do we choose which one is worthy of pursuit? Imagine Uber starting a gourmet meal delivery service or Netflix investing heavily in educational content production for schools. While these ideas address very valid needs, they simply do not align with the core mission of these companies. The key here is alignment with Business Vision & Strategy. Every successful product serves not only the customer but also the business. We would like to point out that we are here not to solve just any problem, but to solve the right problems that will grow the business. Understanding the "WHY" behind your product decisions ensures that the efforts of your team contribute directly toward the goals of the company. Herein lies how prioritization turns a good product into a great business success. Stay focused on what truly matters! #ProductManagement #BusinessStrategy #BusinessVision #Growth

Hi Everyone, This is the learning☺️from Week 1 of the Fellowship Product Management Program by Growjunction Topic: Product Management Roles Our mentor Kunal Parekh provided an insightful overview of various aspects of Product Management. He discussed the concept of a Product, the importance of adopting a Product Mindset, and the stages of the Product Management Life Cycle. He also elaborated on the objectives of Product Management and the significance of achieving a Product-Market Fit. In addition, he differentiated between B2B (Business-to-Business) and B2C (Business-to-Consumer) models and emphasized the need for a Product Thinking approach. To illustrate these concepts, he cited real-world examples from renowned companies such as Amazon, Zomato, Uber, and Airbnb etc. This session offered a comprehensive understanding of the roles and responsibilities in Product Management, and the examples helped in relating the theoretical concepts to practical scenarios. #growjunction #fellowgrowjunction #productmanagement

Hi Everyone, This is the learning from Week 3 of the Fellowship Product Management Program by Growjunction Topic: User Research, Market Research & Product Types - Part 2 My learnings from this module 1. User Journeys & Personas: User journeys involve knowing what users do, how they feel, what they experience, and what they expect from the product or service. User personas describe who the users are, what they do, what they want to achieve, what they don't want, their challenges, and how they find and buy the product. For example, customers of different personas shopping on Amazon experience a journey that includes browsing different products, feeling both excited and overwhelmed by choices, enjoying a smooth checkout process, and expecting fast delivery and good customer service. 2. Empathy Maps: Empathy maps focus on the tasks users are completing and the answers they need, the feelings they are experiencing and what matters to them, the pain points they are facing, the factors influencing them, and the ultimate goals they are trying to achieve. For example, empathy maps in Uber include booking a ride and checking ETA. Users feel anxious about being late but relieved when seeing the driver's progress, are frustrated with surge pricing, and aim to reach their destination on time. 3. Reactive Research: Reactive research involves primary research using product documentation and past usage patterns, as well as secondary research through surveys, interviews, and other methods to gather insights. For example, reactive research in Netflix involves looking at past viewing patterns and product documentation and conducting surveys and interviews to understand the viewers. 4. A/B Testing: A/B testing is about comparing different versions to see what works best, understanding why the comparison is being made, determining how users are divided for the analysis, and deciding when the comparison should occur. For example in Facebook, A/B testing might compare two versions of the news feed to see which one gets more user engagement. What does the magic crystal ball say 2025 will look like for Product Operations? 🤔 My co-author Jake Brereton asked me this last night as we hosted our round table on the Product Ops Playbook (which was a lot of fun too!). 📔 I feel Product Ops - as a role - has now proven itself, and now businesses are asking HOW it can help me, not IF it can help me. Product Ops actually pays for itself (see link in comments for an article on this), we have settled on the value it provides, what it should/shouldn't be doing, how to measure success - and businesses are opening up brand new roles to lap up the strategic support it brings. 💰💪 📈 2025 will see growth again in tech teams, and it is a perfect time to invest in Product Ops to grow efficiently, sensibly, and do more with less. The role is proven, so there will be a lot less nervousness about making that leap for many businesses. 🙏 --- To my peers and friends in Product Ops - what do you think 2025 will hold? --- If you have not downloaded the Product Ops Playbook yet (It's still FREE!), link is in the comments below
