The FDA continues to push for reducing and eliminating #animaltesting to advance the development of human therapies. Although animal models have played a crucial role in establishing therapies, there are limitations in translating these therapies to humans. Humabiologics supports this effort by offering #researchers human derived #biomaterials that are more clinically relevant to developing #invitro models that predict #toxicity levels better than animal models. INVESTIGATION High throughput screening (HTS) is the use of automated equipment to rapidly test thousands to millions of samples for biological activity at the model organism, cellular, pathway, or molecular level. IT IS WIDELY USED AND HAS BEEN FOR OVER 15 YEARS. It is proprietary in use. What does that mean? It means that individual companies ( LIKE CHARLES RIVER AND LABCORP), multinationals ( LIKE JOHNSON & JOHNSON) are building their own libraries ( databases ) of millions of chemical compounds. MANY WERE STARTED OVER A DECADE AND HALF AGO. What should be happening is that these libraries should be catalogued and sent to the regulators who tell anyone who wants to test using animals to go back and pay the licence fee to use these proprietary libraries as they replace animals. NO CHOICE> This should be compulsory as many nations are literally decades behind and would benefit from this. The companies making these get a licence fee which is fair. THE REGULATORS ARE NOT DOING THEIR JOB. THE PRIORITY IS HUMAN AND ANIMAL HEALTH NOT PROPPING UP PROFITS. TAXPAYERS ARE PAYING FOR THIS WASTE. #highthoughputscreening #animaltesting https://lnkd.in/ecz855Wu

How can AI help us to become less dependent on animal testing? Our colleague Marc Teunis explains this to Proefdiervrij in their recent article! At Hogeschool Utrecht, Marc is developing AI tools to predict substance safety, reducing the reliance on animal models. His work not only enhances ethical research but also improves accuracy in toxicology. Next to this, Marc is involved in educating future professionals on the application of AI in this field, contributing to the shift towards animal-free testing. ✨ Currently, the mini osmotic pump has successfully assisted over 500 clients in conducting their experiments smoothly. The mini osmotic pump has become the best tool for continuous doses of unrestrained laboratory animals. It can be implanted subcutaneously or intraperitoneally in animals. Minimizes side effects and experimental variables and reduces the risk of stress due to frequent animal handling. It is used for continuous delivery of a wide range of drugs, including antibodies, growth factors, cytokines, chemotherapeutics, addictive drugs, hormones, steroids and more. 📌 Check out the document below for more information, and feel free to message us!

⏳ Prolonging drug half-life through ISOXTEND® VHH antibodies, or nanobodies, are powerful biological products with low production costs. However, they face a key challenge: short half-life in the bloodstream due to their small size. Isogenica, has developed ISOXTEND® to overcome this limitation. This technology extends the half-life of VHHs, broadening their therapeutic applications. 🐕 But there’s something even more exciting: #ISOXTEND® isn’t limited to human therapeutics. Thanks to its versatility, it’s been shown to work effectively across various animal species. Not only is this great news for pre-clinical development, but it also opens the door to innovations in veterinary medicine. Whether for companion animals like dogs or agricultural animals like cows, ISOXTEND® offers great potential for human and animal health. 🔍 Explore the full details in our poster: https://loom.ly/Drlv0Yw #VHH #Therapeutics #AnimalHealth #Preclinical
