We spent the turn of June and July intensively! 🔥 In addition to MeetUp, where we had the opportunity to perform alongside Aleksandra Pedraszewska, we were also present at the CEE Innovation & Investment EXECUTIVE SUMMIT at the Wilanów Palace. Our CEO Magdalena Jabłońska had the pleasure of moderating a panel entitled "Era of Machines: Unleashing the Potential of Robotics in Industry and Beyond" and brought together industry experts to discuss the current and future applications of robotics across various sectors. 🤖 The discussion revealed that the level of robotization in Poland is, unfortunately, very low, with many companies still hesitating to adopt it. We have much to learn from countries like Germany and Korea, which are far ahead. As we agreed, robotics: enhances competitiveness addresses labor shortages boosts productivity ensures quality offers flexibility and scalability leads to cost reduction fosters innovation supports sustainability and enables data-driven decisions. Today, the phrase 'start-up' is a synonym for 'digital technology'. This is primarily driven because investors are drawn towards digital solutions. It is understandable; software can scale faster and requires less capital, therefore offering the potential for quicker/greater returns. But there are many start-ups, like us at Hibra Design, who are developing solutions which are physical. We do develop software but as a means to facilitate physical solutions. I fervently believe that in order to solve climate change, we need physical solutions supported by software. CO2 and other waste products are measured by the tonne; they are real and tangible. We are not going to just optimise them away. We need to make physical changes at source. The Deeptech Festival is an excellent space where companies working on tangible solutions can discuss the challenges in a digital-focussed world. This focus on developing tools and framework for quantifying innovation resulted in 6 internal innovation initiatives, ranging from quantifying key innovation skills to developing an actionable dashboard to allow ecosystem builders to precision intervene to grow the strength of their innovation ecosystem. We also also got more rigorous about defining key components of the framework upon which successful innovation initiatives sit. Exciting update! 📢 Offline member Awais Ahmed, Founder and CEO of Pixxel, has secured $24M in additional Series B funding! 🚀 This brings Pixxel’s total Series B funding to $60M and $95M across all rounds, positioning it as one of India’s highest-funded space-tech startups and the highest-funded hyperspectral imaging company globally. The funding will drive Pixxel’s plans to launch its constellation of 18 hyperspectral satellites, scale its AI-driven Earth Observation platform - Aurora, and expand satellite manufacturing capabilities. Pixxel’s satellites, capturing 250+ spectral bands at 5-meter resolution, enable industries to tackle challenges in climate, agriculture, and environmental monitoring with unmatched precision.
