As I take a moment to reflect on the recent #UCAN innovation showcase opportunity, I presented #Placelytics for the first time in front of a prestigious urban expert panel; I feel a profound sense of gratitude. Being a finalist and having the chance to demonstrate how Placelytics enables the co-creation of inclusive public spaces through tech-enabled inclusive place branding and citizen participation for transparent & informed decisions for future cities. It was an exhilarating experience, the anticipation before, the adrenaline during, and the relief and satisfaction after. It was a moment where every slide, every word, and every idea were a step towards making an impact. The Q&A session was invaluable. The insights have helped me better understand our strategies and fueled my desire to present with even more clarity and impact in the future. This opportunity has been a significant milestone for Placelytics and me as its co-founder. It helped me realise the importance of clear communication, the power of preparation, and the value of constructive criticism. I look forward to applying the key takeaways in our future endeavours with greater impact and to contributing meaningfully to enhance inclusivity in public spaces. Here's to embracing every opportunity, learning from every experience, and growing with every presentation. #Inclusiveplacesforall #Leavingnoonebehind #CoCreating #CivicEngagement #ParticipatoryAccountability #ResilientCommunities #CommunityBuilding #InclusiveDemocracy #PublicTrust #DataDrivenGovernance #Placelytics #PlacesforPeople #UCAN

Coworking and innovation Nutrion is fortunate to contribute research in the field of innovation and coworking by adapting the concept of third places by Ray Oldenburg to Joseph Schumpeter’s understanding of innovation as establishing new goods. The concepts show coworking can significantly enrich and accelerate the evaluation of opportunities for new goods, resulting in innovation. The research was first published in the book Coworking als Revolution der Arbeitswelt, published by Prof. Dr. Simon Werther in 2021. https://lnkd.in/d8Nu4kbm

TEDxHelenenPark 🔴 - What is My Why? Hi, I’m Viktoriya Sokolova, and while I’m the one who had the initial spark to organize TEDxHelenenPark, this journey is far from a solo venture. From the moment I stepped onto the TEDx stage in Luxembourg and Karlsruhe, I felt the power of ideas and the potential they have to shape the future. That experience ignited something within me - a desire to create a platform where others could experience that same transformative power. But TEDxHelenenPark isn’t just about me. It’s about the incredible people who have rallied around this vision - an amazing team of like-minded thinkers and doers, who are just as passionate about shaping tomorrow as I am. Together, we’ve built something that’s more than an event; it’s a movement driven by collaboration, creativity, and the desire to make an impact. Our shared goal? To bring together innovators, dreamers, and change-makers to explore “Shaping Tomorrow.” This theme is about more than just predicting the future - it’s about actively creating it, together. And that’s what makes TEDxHelenenPark so special: it’s fueled by a community that believes in the power of ideas to inspire action and change. I’m proud to be leading this effort, but I couldn’t do it without the support of an incredible people that works tirelessly behind the scenes to make this vision a reality. We’re here to build a stage for ideas that challenge, uplift, and push us all forward. So, are you ready to join us on this journey? 🎟 Get your ticket here: https://lnkd.in/e2F7rqVx and be part of shaping tomorrow! #TEDxHelenenPark #ShapingTomorrow #Innovation #Inspiration #Networking #Oktogon #ZecheZollverein #Essen #TEDx #technology #Education

We hit the road on Tuesday, taking the Connectivity Mix to Manchester to gain new perspectives on regional collaboration unlocking innovation journeys and what a success it was. Our panel discussion was packed with insights from academia, entrepreneurship and investment all sharing a common goal: to drive innovation and growth for UK health tech. Sue Cooke, 3M Buckley Innovation Centre kicked things off by highlighting how innovation can come from interdisciplinary ideas, with the example of Paxman Scalp Cooling taking their experience of chilling beer to develop scalp cooling technology, helping with chemotherapy-induced hair loss. Sue stressed the power of tapping into local innovation support – from grants to university networks – to drive innovation success. Aline Miller, The University of Manchester took her experience in academia and entrepreneurship to highlight how research culture is shifting to support the translation of innovative ideas through to impact. We saw knowledge exchange in practice with Sue Cooke sharing how The University of Huddersfield is addressing this through hackathons, grouping students from different disciplines to solve challenges and get a taste of impact through innovation. Jessica McCreadie, Northern Gritstone provided a great insight to collaborative investment. At the company level, having diverse capital is an advantage and supports companies to grow and scale. At a national ecosystem level, Jess highlighted that better communication around investment opportunities will allow different regions to meet their investment needs, with some experiencing a lack of series-A funding, and others a lack of series-B. Joining the dots will accelerate our collective potential. Andy Roberts, Bruntwood SciTech brought culture into the conversation, highlighting the UK’s need to get over the fear of failure. Early-stage failure provides individuals with experience that will improve future succeed rates. A higher-rate of early stage “failure” will also free up money in the investment ecosystem to allow the businesses who have a winning combination of innovation and market need to scale faster and ultimately attract more investment! Thank you to all our brilliant panellists – more posts to come with our take-aways! The room was filled with people who share our passion for innovation, all eager to offer their views on what the Connectivity Mix can do for the North West. Thank you to everyone who joined us, your enthusiasm and willingness to share ideas have left us buzzing for exciting collaborations ahead! A big thank you to Bruntwood SciTech Aline Charpentier for supporting the event – your hospitality in the brilliant Citylabs set the stage perfectly. #ConnectivityMix #Collaboration #Cambridge #Manchester #Innovation

September Recap: A month full of innovation, collaboration, and meaningful connections across various sectors What a journey this month has been - just reflecting on a September filled with innovation, collaboration, and new connections: 🔹 AI Insights in Montréal: on short notice I jumped on a plane to accompany our delegation trip to Montréal after organising the trip for weeks. Alongside brilliant minds from academia, industry and local development agencies, we explored the forefront of AI at McGill University and Concordia University, and participated in the ALL IN Conference. We left with so many ideas for future collaborations and brought home valuable insights for the Ruhr region’s tech ecosystem. 🔹 Investor Tour 2024: This year's Investor Tour Ruhr took representatives from the real estate industry on five bus tours to 14 cities across the Ruhr. This established format we organise with DIRK LEUTBECHER and STONY Real Estate Capital GmbH & Co. KG isn't about internationalisation but exploring interesting development areas in the Ruhr regions. I supported our team on the Duisburg tour: from Mercator-Quartier to the former Galeria Department Store, and Torhaus Nord. It was truly exciting to see the potential we observed in the city center of Duisburg. 🔹 Scaling to Germany: Together with our partner DutchBasecamp, we welcomed seven Dutch startups eager to expand into the German market. From insightful presentations and 1:1 matchings to roundtable discussions, these startups connected with experts and partners from the Ruhr. It was a pleasure to witness such dynamic exchanges, and our rooftop networking event "Get in Touch with the Dutch" was the perfect touch. However, September wasn’t solely focused on external collaborations; we also prioritized internal innovation. Our cross-innovation workshop sparked fresh ideas on how we can enhance collaboration within our teams by applying cross-sector strategies. And as AI has not only been the main topic of our Montréal trip but is also an internal driver in our AI User Lab and other initiatives it was great to gain new inspiration on the first day of Essen Digitalisiert The best part of these experiences? The people. Meeting new connections, reconnecting with old colleagues, and building on relationships, whether in a conference hall, a seminar room, a bus or on a rooftop — it's always about the people. I’m really looking forward to what's next – and 🤫 I can’t wait for my upcoming vacation in October to recharge and gather new energy #metropoleruhr #wenndannhier #internationalisation #innovation #AI #collaboration #networking
