Day 2 at Sipitang project site. Briefing by site team on current status and preparation. Integration between multi-discipline C&S (Civil & Structural) and M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) in a construction project is crucial for ensuring a well-coordinated and functional team. Close collaboration is necessary to avoid clashes between C&S and M&E works. M&E engineers need to know the construction schedule for C&S works to plan their installations accordingly. Regular communication is vital throughout the project lifecycle. This ensures any design changes or challenges are addressed promptly to avoid delays and rework.

https://lnkd.in/gxumARfU Article Title: Building energy consumption assessment during and after lockdown: Case study of Malaysian housing Author(s): Tareq Gaber Farea, Mohd Zin Kandar, Zulai Jarmai Baba-Girei, Kasham Jummai Shamang, Lukman Muazu Lukman and Muhammad Saidu Aliero* Journal: Journal of Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences Journal ISSN: 2455-488X Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic caused devastation to society in 2020, forcing people all across the world to alter their lifestyles. During the pandemic, people spent more time at home, and this shift in occupancy can directly influence building energy usage. COVID-19 lockdowns hastened the transition to telework, which many predict will continue. Changes in energy usage during lockdown are thus a significant source for forecasting future energy consumption in buildings. This study aims to measure the effects of the COVID-19 lockout on home energy usage. The energy usage of a seven residential building complex in Johor Bahru, Malaysia before, during, and after the first lockdown phase was compared and analyzed. It was discovered that the initial two months in the lockdown period are the most severe energy consumption due to the tight lockdown measures implemented as reflected in energy consumption patterns. Overall energy consumption for all candidate appliances increased during and after lockdown. Still, the more significant change was that consumption occurred during the daytime rather than focused in the evening as before the lockdown. The findings provide insight into the effect of a lockdown on customer energy costs and how energy utilities may be approached during such an event. #Building #Energy #Assessment #Lockdown #MalaysianHousing #Engineering #MechanicalEngineering #ElectricalEngineering #CivilEngineering #ChemicalEngineering #ComputerEngineering #SoftwareEngineering #AerospaceEngineering #BiomedicalEngineering #EnvironmentalEngineering #StructuralEngineering #IndustrialEngineering #MaterialsEngineering #SystemsEngineering #Robotics #Peertechz #PeertechzPublications #Nanotechnology #RenewableEnergy #EngineeringDesign #EngineeringManagement #ManufacturingEngineering #AutomotiveEngineering #TelecommunicationsEngineering #Mechatronics #EngineeringMechanics #ControlSystems

🔧 Engineering Junior Insights: Safe Operation Procedures for Diesel Pile Hammers 🔧 As budding engineers, it’s essential to have a strong foundation in safety protocols, especially when working with heavy machinery like diesel pile hammers. At Kangding Konstruksi Indonesia, we prioritize the safety of our teams on-site, and today we’re sharing key operational guidelines for diesel pile hammers to ensure you stay safe and efficient. Here’s what you need to know: 1. Safety in the Work Area: Make sure the work area is clear of any high-voltage lines and that the area is marked or fenced. Operators should monitor the process from a distance of at least 5 meters from the pile hammer. 2. Fuel and Lubrication: Ensure you use the correct fuel mixture and always fill the fuel tank before starting work. Also, check and fill the lubrication system to maintain smooth operation. 3. Pre-Operation Equipment Inspection: Check all fastening bolts and particularly the fixed bolts of the guide plates. Loose or missing parts can result in serious accidents. 4. Align the Hammer and Pile: Before starting the operation, ensure the pile hammer, pile cap, and pile are aligned on the same axis to avoid off-center driving, which can lead to equipment damage or misalignment of the piles. 5. Emergency and Shutdown Protocols: Always have a dedicated team member holding the control rope for emergencies, and ensure proper shutdown procedures are followed to secure the equipment safely. 6. Maintenance and Storage: For long-term storage, clean and remove the hammer, drain any fluids, and take anti-corrosion measures to ensure the equipment is ready for use next time. 7. Weather Precautions: Work should stop during severe weather conditions, such as thunderstorms or high winds, to avoid unnecessary risk. 💡 Safety is non-negotiable in engineering, especially when working with large machinery. Make sure to follow these guidelines and take every precaution necessary. At Kangding Konstruksi Indonesia, we are committed to promoting safety and efficiency in every project. #ConstructionSafety #DieselPileHammer #JuniorEngineers #EngineeringTips #WorkplaceSafety #KangdingKonstruksi #SafetyFirst #HeavyMachinery
