𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗮 𝗕𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀?
I’ve been thinking about how we can make a bigger impact with slots by focusing on something beyond the game itself—a bigger story.
I was reading Disney CEO Bob Iger’s autobiography and noticed how he talks about the power of story in connecting people to a brand. It’s not just about the movie—it’s about the entire ecosystem that surrounds it: pillows, candy, clothes, rides, comics, books, etc.—all of it allowing people to connect to the story in a much bigger way.
And I remember hearing somewhere (maybe it was Kevin Feige or Bob Iger) that a lot of kids first connected to Spider-Man through Spider-Man underwear, not through the comics, the movies, or the TV shows. The merchandise was the gateway to the story.
What if we took that lesson and applied it to slots? What if we built a bigger story around our games? Something that allows players to connect on multiple levels, even outside the game.
Could that be a way to create a deeper connection with players?
