📃Scientific paper: Identification of important nodes in the information propagation network based on the artificial intelligence method Abstract: This study presents an integrated approach for identifying key nodes in information propagation networks using advanced artificial intelligence methods. We introduce a novel technique that combines the Decision-making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) method with the Global Structure Model (GSM), creating a synergistic model that effectively captures both local and global influences within a network. This method is applied across various complex networks, such as social, transportation, and communication systems, utilizing the Global Network Influence Dataset (GNID). Our analysis highlights the structural dynamics and resilience of these networks, revealing insights into node connectivity and community formation. The findings demonstrate the effectiveness of our AI-based approach in offering a comprehensive understanding of network behavior, contributing significantly to strategic network analysis and optimization. 🌟 Excited to announce my upcoming talk at ICC 2024 on June 11, 2024, from 8:30 PM - 10:00 PM, EEST (11:30 AM - 1:00 PM, MDT)! 🔍 Title: ORIENT: A Priority-Aware Energy-Efficient Approach for Latency-Sensitive Applications in 6G 🎙️ Abstract: As the era of 6G approaches, concerns about escalating energy consumption in computing and networking are on the rise. With an anticipated surge in connected devices and resource-intensive applications, ensuring sustainable resource allocation becomes paramount. Previous discussions on resource allocation strategies have often focused on single-domain orchestration, overlooking the unique challenges posed by 6G. To bridge this gap, we delve into the joint problem of service instance placement and assignment, path selection, and request prioritization, termed PIRA. Our objective? Maximizing overall system profit while minimizing energy consumption over an extended period, all while considering end-to-end latency requirements and resource capacity constraints. Leveraging queuing theory to estimate the Age of Information (AoI) for requests, we tackle this complex issue head-on, proving its NP-hardness and introducing ORIENT—a method grounded in Double Dueling Deep Q-Learning (D3QL) and Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) for state encoding. I'm excited to share that our new paper, “Contactless Glucose Sensing Using Miniature mm-Wave Radar and Tiny Machine Learning,” has been published in the IEEE Journal of Microwaves. This research stands at the exciting intersection of AI, wireless sensing, and medicine. In this work, we demonstrate how a miniature mm-wave radar combined with tiny machine learning can enable a contactless glucose sensing solution. This innovation has the potential to revolutionize how diabetes and other glucose-related health conditions are managed. This paper is the result of a wonderful collaboration with my co-authors Caroline Sheedy, Jiayu He, Ruth Crowe, and Deeksha Rao. 🎉 Excited to share that our paper titled “SwiSS: Switchable Single-Sided Sparsity-based DNN Accelerators” has been accepted for publication in ACM/IEEE ISLPED 2024. 📚✨ This paper, for the first time, introduces the concept of dynamically Switchable Single-sided Sparsity (SwiSS) to enhance energy efficiency in edge AI accelerators by exploiting unbalanced sparsity in deep learning models. 🔍 Key Highlights: 🆕 SwiSS employs a novel self-adaptive dynamic sparsity selection algorithm. 🔄 SwiSS can dynamically exploit both sides of sparsity (either activation or weight side), maximizing power and area benefits in the accelerator. 📊 Evaluation Results: 💡 Up to 30.76% improvement in power overheads. 🏠 Up to 8.29% improvement in area overheads. 🚀 These improvements translate to 1.42x and 1.08x enhancements in TOPS/W and TOPS/mm², respectively, compared to a combined two-sided sparsity-based accelerator. 📉 The improvements come with a negligible drop in sparsity acceleration. 🙌 Big shoutout to my colleagues, Dr. Shamik Kundu (co-first author), Dr. Arnab Raha, and Dr. Deepak Mathaikutty from the Advanced Architecture Research group, NPU IP, Intel Corporation, for their hard work, support, and feedback throughout! #DNN #energyefficiency #weareintel #AI
