Here’s how it works:
Vertices = Thoughts: Each node represents a unique "thought" generated by the LLM.
Edges = Connections: These show relationships between thoughts, allowing for complex, interconnected reasoning.
GoT's true power lies in its ability to perform thought transformations like "aggregation," where it combines multiple ideas into new, richer insights. This allows the LLM to generate more nuanced, creative solutions.

Is prompt engineering a viable career path for the future? 🤔
Honestly, I have my doubts.
In essence, by prompt engineering many often imply it as crafting natural language instructions for a task and inputting them into a Language Model (LLM). 🤖✨
However, here's why I believe this field may face challenges in the long term:
Automated Optimization Approaches: Numerous studies have proposed automated methods to optimize prompts using LLMs for enhanced performance. Check out some highly recommended works like PromptBreeder (https://lnkd.in/gMmm8Dqa) and Automatic Prompt Optimization (https://lnkd.in/gEgXHjTF).
First of all, everything that is input to an LLM becomes a sequence of (subword) tokens and each token is a tensor (or simply parameters). So any natural language sequence is a sequence of tensors.
Also, these parameters were obtained via training
So any attempt at searching or updating parameters to suit a better outcome is feasible and makes it methodical, as against manual design where a human is basically only has access to LLMs as a blackbox.
At best prompt engineering may be seen as a highly restrictive or narrow form of feature engineering.
And LLMs, or more generally, end to end systems have shown the power of end to end training over hand crafted engineering, even those with higher expressive power.
Finally, prompt engineering might stick around as a freelance gig, just like how SEO has persisted, much to my astonishment.
