This week in module 3A in #GED7871 we learned about the importance of utilizing read-aloud strategies in aiding students' comprehension of texts. Reading out loud can help students still learn from texts that may be outside of their reading level and help build connections with peers over the subject material. Engagement is vital to a great lesson, and this strategy truly helps keep everyone engaged. Talking is where most of the learning can happen, and this strategy uses talking the most! Having students discuss with each other and the teacher by pausing throughout the reading builds critical thinking. This is a great way to have everyone participate and be part of the classroom.
