AlignTech Recruiting : So..why is the logo some planet? 🪐 Well, I’ll tell you! AlignTech Recruiting was founded on the basis that for a candidate to truly be a “fit” for a role, the company and candidate need be aligned on certain criteria. This includes cultural alignment, ethical and moral alignment, and short and long term goals of the role, company and candidates. In space, planetary alignment is common with TWO planets: in this case the candidate and the client 😉 The planet that is our logo is Jupiter. Jupiter in Hebrew translates to “Tzedek”. Tzedek in Hebrew means doing the right thing. But the concept goes far beyond just fair treatment and equal opportunities. Tzedek is seen as a fundamental value that encompasses morality and righteousness. So..the connection is: In order to achieve true alignment between a candidate their next company, the mediator (AlignTech Recruiting) needs to be the bridge between them. Ethically. Morally. Fairly. AND, for future employees at AlignTech Recruiting, we will honor the same values.

If I had to explain to my son what I do for work, what would I say? When I’m on the phone with clients, I often catch Luan looking at me, curious. I can almost see it in his little face, he must be thinking, “What on earth is my mummy talking about?” One day, I know he’ll turn to me and ask, “Mummy, what do you do for work?” And it got me thinking… how would I explain my job/Phlox Consulting to him? 🤔 So, in simple, childlike language, I think I would say: "Mummy helps businesses find the best people to join their team. I also help those businesses show why they’re a great place to work, so amazing people want to join them!" Of course, there’s a little more to it than that (Luan’s still working on understanding employer branding and recruitment!). But at its heart, that’s what Phlox is all about! On this day 6 years ago, I was recognized as one of the top 25 recruiters in the Cleveland Recruiting Battalion of around 1000 recruiters. This achievement is especially meaningful to me as an introvert, proving that success in recruiting can come from different approaches. To achieve this, I created a program to streamline and target recruiting through Facebook, allowing me to connect with top candidates more effectively. I’m so excited to share a recent webinar in which I participated alongside Ben Chung, Director of Talent Acquisition at Dialogue, and Sean Huynh, Managing Director at Rocket! We dove into how we approach building strong employer brands that attract the right talent, and how to maximize support from those around you, especially when resources are tight. We wrapped up by discussing our hopes for the future of the talent industry. 🔮 For those of us in this field, we know how crucial it is to ensure a positive experience for candidates and employees—it directly impacts your brand. I loved Ben’s suggestion that companies eliminate the requirement for resumes in the recruiting process to create a better candidate experience. 👏 Until joining Zapier, I’d never worked for a company that didn’t require resumes or CVs, but I can say that it is possible, and I'm hopeful more companies will explore this approach. 🌍 Over the past 9 months, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with our amazing Talent Acquisition teams across Brainlabs (tagged below) to completely revamp our global selection process. It’s been a journey—rebuilding our entire pipeline, reworking candidate communications, standardising interviews, and launching new online testing formats with our partners at SOVA. This has been a massive project, sometimes daunting, but we’ve all stayed motivated, driven by a shared vision. Our goal? To create a globally consistent process that not only identifies amazing talent but also delivers a candidate experience that truly reflects our culture. This all started with defining what “amazing talent” really meant to us. This was a topic of debate, but one thing we all agreed on was the importance of hiring for potential, not just experience.
