After 17 incredible years with Salo, a Korn Ferry company and the last year with Korn Ferry (post-acquisition), I've decided to step back and evaluate what comes next in my career journey. It's not often that we have the opportunity to truly disconnect, reflect, and regroup. It's also been what my family and I needed. In three short weeks, I've been able to celebrate my father's 70th birthday in person with him, take our 20-year wedding anniversary trip (a year delayed) and now prepare for my middle daughter's high school graduation. I'm grateful for everyone that has been part of my journey to this point and supportive of this decision. During my time at Salo, I've had the privilege to work alongside some of the most talented professionals in our industry. A company that lived its values out loud every day and used them to make every decision, strategic and tactical. The experiences and lessons learned have been invaluable, and I am immensely grateful for the opportunities and relationships forged along the way. Now, as I transition into a new phase, I am eager to share my expertise and insights to help other staffing companies achieve their goals and drive growth. 20 days & counting... 🙌 When giving out a thought, this is hard to believe that it’s been just 20 days since I joined Torry Harris Integration Solutions, but what a ride it's been! From diving into new platforms to taking #ownership of my work, each day has pushed me to #grow in incredible ways. One standout moment so far was the “THIS & Charcha” #event, conceptualized for the new joiners to meet the leadership team. This intimate gathering wasn’t just another induction; but a meaningful #conversation that helped me and the other joiners to understand the #companyculture and our roles within it. 'THIS & Charcha' aimed to ensure we felt welcomed and supported as we into this new environment. It was amazing to see an #organization prioritize open #communication and #employeeengagement right from the very start. Events like these don’t just help the newcomers feel valued; they also foster #connections across all levels of the #company. Also, cheers to our #leadershipteam, Shuba Sridhar, Karthik T S, Srikar SS, Manjunath Gk, Aparna C & Harinarayan Iyer , for creating such a comfortable and open space for these #insightful conversations. How can this be the case? Celebrating my 8th anniversary at Reveleer! It’s been an incredible journey growing almost 100x; expanding from 1 product suite to 3; launching a 2nd site in New Albany, OH; and seeing our overall headcount expand 10X and most importantly building a company that will have a meaningful impact on the triple-aim in healthcare. As I reflect on how far we’ve come, I recognize that amidst the celebratory headlines are critical moments of doubt and transition, pivotal in determining our company's survival in the marketplace. In recognition of my 8th anniversary, I share 8 essential learnings from my journey to date. 1. Declare your North Star. Make it simple, succinct, and compelling so people understand it & believe in it. You will be surprised at how often you are asked to share your bold vision to investors, prospects, customers, business partners and more. 2. Culture-building is paramount for a CEO. Even as the company expands, maintaining involvement is crucial. Embrace departures that don't fit the culture and celebrate the culture's strength. Reveleer emphasizes this through annual themes, encouraging vulnerability among executives to convey the message effectively. #MissionPossible for 2024. 3. No job is beneath you. Empty the sink. Pick up the trash. My father embodied this exceptionally well when he built his company. Be a servant leader & prioritize the growth, well-being, and empowerment of your employees. When they succeed so will your company. 4. ‘A’ players drive exponential value. Never be afraid to hire someone who is too big for the current job. I learned this at ServiceSource (acquired by Concentrix) and it has never failed me when properly executed. While the headline is simple, execution is not. The big-time ‘A’ player must come in with both confidence and humility. 5. Assess your mental health and prioritize it. This is my biggest challenge right now.   Entrepreneurial journeys are filled with highs and lows, often lonely & overwhelming. There are times when you have no one to share with: not your partner, your board, nor your key lieutenant. There are mornings when you wake up and feel a 50lb bag of sand laying on top of you. It’s real. 6. Stay involved in the interview process. As the business expands, maintain involvement in candidate interviews. While I don’t interview every finalist, I prioritize interviewing late-stage VP candidates to ensure the right fit for key positions. 7. Prepare for setbacks. They happen & never on your terms. Take a breath as these events occur & engage your team in a balanced manner. 8. Define your operating framework, but know when to pivot.  Establish and adhere to your operating structure, emphasizing its importance. For me this includes annual OKR’s, quarterly operating reviews, weekly leadership meetings, reviewing metrics, and post-mortems to name a few. To the next 8! Today marks a remarkable milestone – we’ve officially reached #3years as a company! As I reflect on this journey, I am overwhelmed with pride, gratitude, and excitement for what we’ve built together and where we’re headed. When we first started, we had an ambitious vision. We knew it wouldn’t be easy, and the path forward would be filled with challenges. But we believed in the mission and, most importantly, we believed in each other. These past three years have shown us that with #hardwork, resilience, and #teamwork, we can accomplish extraordinary things. One of our greatest achievements has been the culture we’ve fostered here. A #culture based on trust, open communication, creativity, and a willingness to help one another. Looking ahead, I’m more confident than ever in our future. We have ambitious goals, and the foundation we’ve built over these last three years gives us the strength to reach them. It's not you, it's me...   How on earth do we position this? (Warning: lengthy post alert—grab a cuppa!)    I realised there was only one way to write about our new situation - with honesty, optimism and just a dash of “Are we really doing this again?”    At Grin, we’ve always prided ourselves on being a close-knit team with a strong culture. Earlier this year, we said goodbye to two valued team members: one who had been with us for nearly nine years and another who was eager to explore new horizons, having started their career with us. It was a bittersweet moment, because while we miss them, we’re so proud of what we accomplished together.    Now, we’re preparing for another transition as two more talented colleagues get ready to move on. One has realised that the design industry isn’t quite the right fit, and the other feels it’s time for a new chapter. Even though they haven’t left yet, we’re already feeling the effects of their upcoming departures and are deeply grateful for all they’ve brought to the team. When the time comes, we’ll give their next steps the recognition they deserve, but for now, we wanted to acknowledge their contributions and express our appreciation.   While I know it’s never personal, there’s a part of me that thinks about all the time spent mentoring and supporting each person, helping them build skills and grow in ways that go beyond just their work. Letting go is never easy, but in agency life, we know it’s part of the journey and we have benefitted just as much from these amazing individuals.    We've been fortunate at Grin to have people stay with us for years and as we’ve grown in our approach to people management, we've focused on recruiting from the ground up. We love giving young, aspiring designers and account handlers a start in the industry while creating opportunities for existing team members to move into new roles. But inevitably, people venture out to try new things.    Just the other day, a former colleague (thanks Krishna Chauhan) shared a perspective that really resonated. She said, “I always found Grin became a bit of a springboard for talent,” and noted that everyone who’s moved on has gone on to do great things. It’s a testament to the experience and skills they gained here, and it’s a reminder of how fortunate we are to contribute to their careers and to see them flourish.    So here we are, entering an exciting new chapter. We will be gearing up for our next recruitment drive, thriving and ready for fresh energy and ideas. Change is a fantastic catalyst for growth, and we’re fully embracing it as a chance to keep evolving and pushing forward.    To all the Account Managers and Mid-Weight/Senior Designers out there, if you’re looking for a chance to make an impact with a collaborative, supportive team, watch this space!

This past week marked my 10 year anniversary at Futureheads 😲 🤯   10 years in any company is a great stint, but 10 years in one recruitment business is a rarity.   Anyone who knows me will know I’m driven by the pursuit of excellence, and being able to offer authenticity and meaningful value in all my interactions.   As I often advise organisations to do themselves, I wanted to celebrate my decade by highlight the reasons I’ve stayed at FH all these years (apart from them having me 😜)   ⭐ Genuine market knowledge. As a technologist myself, being able to work in a business where everyone actually understands the disciplines they hire for and are active members of the community is invaluable. ⭐ People first. Recruitment can be a cut throat space, with poor practice and staff not getting the support they deserve. FH has always been about developing talent, seeking diversity of thought and being an inclusive place to work, things I am personally passionate about.     ⭐ High performance and progression. I didn’t get into recruitment to make up the numbers. I’ve been fortunate to have performed at the highest level for a number of years as a consultant, manager and director, with the business affording me the platform to do so. ⭐ Fun. I like what I do, so being able to enjoy my role, have a laugh, work with people who share the same values and getting to experience things I would not have been able to in other paths has been amazing.   A massive thanks to my founders Be Kaler Pilgrim Gill Arnold Rachel Murray (Brierley) and Charlie Hoult. Nathan Callaghan who brought me in and managed me until only recently, and all the FH + SyncD team current and former 🤟🏽 .   Also a big show of appreciation to everyone I’ve had the chance to work with over the past decade.
