I don't know who needs to hear this advice from Lauren W. Wilson of ColorComm, Inc. - when you say yes to any job you are doing a disservice to yourself and your road to success if you are not willing to dive in and be an active participant in the work culture. If you don't like the culture... Don't take the job. Loved the episode from #hrbesties where Leigh Elena Henderson talks about #cringeorporatespeak (if you listen to the podcast, you know they reference this quite a lot). But, this particular quote stood out to me: 💬 "What cringe corporate speak is, in my opinion, is civility. What if we did not have corporate speak? Right, or corporate jargon? We'd literally be the biggest assholes to one another in the workplace, when you think about it. So, that's a way to control ourselves that also feeds ego. It's weird." 💬 When I started treading in the territory of #hr, I often felt that I needed to be so corporate-minded (verbally or via written comms) that I ran the risk of forgetting my own identity; an #identitycrisis. Never forget yourself or your identity in your career. It's your brand and usually, what sets you a part from others. Never forget that a job is not who you are, it's what you do. And, you can find a balance between #coporatespeak and being yourself. #authenticself #hrbrand #lowhangingfruit #letscircleback #letsrealign #blueskythinking #unicorn

It was so much fun to chat with Joe and hopefully we were able to share some valuable insights for budding recruiters looking to enter the industry. If you're interested in hearing more about our chat, be sure to check out the episode posted in the comments below. Thanks again for having me on Joe!
