The integration of artificial intelligence in the educational field is a topic that deserves attention and reflection. This technological advancement is redefining children's education, transforming the way we teach and learn. Personalized stories and interactivity are powerful tools that foster creativity and critical thinking in children. These strategies not only improve their linguistic and cognitive skills but also turn them into active participants in their own learning. This is essential to motivate them and help them face future challenges with confidence and skill. The responsibility to implement these technologies ethically and safely falls on educators, developers, and parents. Equitable access and the protection of students' privacy are critical aspects that must be carefully considered to maximize the benefits of these tools. Collaboration is key in this journey: only by working together can we establish clear policies and appropriate guidelines for their integration in the classroom. In a constantly changing world, technology-adapted education not only opens doors to new pedagogical possibilities but also ensures that we are effectively and responsibly preparing future generations. #SmartEducation #TechnologyInTheClassroom #EducationalInnovation #ArtificialIntelligence #FutureOfEducation https://ow.ly/ie2C50TUATa

If you're interested in AI and its impact on education, watch the World Economic Forum's panel discussion on "Teaching with Tech: Redefining Digital Literacy". My 3 take-away's: 1. The focus of education needs to shift from content dissemination to skill sets and competency development. Computers will push out all the content we need. Students/people need to be capable of a) telling the computers what to do, and b) applying critical thinking, context, and human emotional insight to the content. (Nina Huntemann) 2. Teachers need to evolve from content experts to facilitators of learning - to 'unlock human potential' - helping students develop critical thinking skills, contextualizing, and social intelligence (David Edwards) 3. The challenge is too large for any one entity to tackle on its own - Partnerships are essential This session got me thinking about who we view as "students" and where we assume we're educating them. A "student" is no longer someone between 3 and 18 and learning happens almost everywhere. The combination of a shrinking young population + rapid technological change + higher ed out of reach for most students worldwide + later retirement desires = a need to rethink the structural setup of "education" entirely. Partnerships are a central piece of any solution. Community organizations, schools, industry organizations, companies, and government institutions can all play important roles. If this is of interest, in addition to WEF's session -below, check out the work being done at JobsForTheFuture, American Student Assistance, EDTOGETHER, iThrive, Ender, and Wiseforce Advisors/rocket50.

Let's unite to enhance education accessibility in the USA! Why do disparities persist in students' access to high-quality learning experiences across America? Why isn't ensuring top-notch education for all students a top priority in the US? Teachers encounter daily challenges in providing the best possible education for their students. They are unsung heroes who work tirelessly for minimal compensation in highly stressful environments. As Condoleezza Rice emphasized in 2012, "The Education Crisis Is a National Security Crisis." Despite 12 years having passed, little has changed. However, technology has evolved significantly. It's high time to tackle this issue. #K12 #Education #AI #edtech #questsim

Edtech and digital literacy integration function differently for learners in adult foundational education. Emerging technologies and AI literacy will too. As we look to K12 and higher education for insights and inspiration, we should also remember that so much innovation can be found within. I'm really thankful to the Office of EdTech and OCTAE for letting us highlight some areas of potential in #AIforAdultEd, how we're working with adult educators teachers in #CampGPT and DRAW, and how this fits into a broader vision for expanded digital equity and resilience. This post includes examples and quotes from some amazing, dedicated educators Mary Gaston, Jayme Adelson-Goldstein, and Yeonjai Rah, PhD and is a reflection of work done by my amazing EdTech Center at World Education teammates like Jamie Harris, Jen Vanek, Jeff Goumas, Priyanka Sharma, and more!
