Why did Bitcoin rise so fast? The most obvious answer is that the re-election of Donald Trump as US president boosted the price because of his campaign’s pro-crypto stance. The concrete promises include plans to establish a Federal Bitcoin Reserve and appoint industry-friendly regulators. But there is more than just that, significant as it is.

It’s great to see someone encouraging critical thinking at the Bitcoin Conference, to balance it a bit. That said, if Trump delivers on his commitments to a strategic reserve, the reorientation of regulation towards growth and certain much needed personel changes at the SEC then I think we are going to see four amazing years of accelerated growth. More and more companies and nation states are going to add BTC to their balance sheets and the rest will be history, money will have changed for ever.
