The last time, I talked about digital signature. Today, I will share about how it's used for identity confirmation. In the non-digital world, when we need to verify our identity, at first we need a document about our personal information such as name, age, hometown, ... etc. Then we have to find the local authority to stamp on or sign on it. As long as the stamp or the signature can not be faked, we can use this document to verify our identity. The situation is actually the same in the digital world, and there are 2 ways to create a digital signature: - Share your symmetric key with others, and then you sign on the document with your symmetric key. The integrity check can be conducted by using the symmetric key. - Share your public key with others, and then you sign on the document with your private key. The integrity check can be conducted using the public key.
