Data to help benchmark events impact on health and wellbeing. Say survey findings show that 1 in 2 of your event spectators were inspired to do more sport or physical activity. So what? How can I make the most of it? Using data consistent with the Common Indicators adopted by ASOIF, IAEH and OECD, and taken from more than 20 different events held in the last 2 years studied by Event Host Evaluation consultants, the % of spectators inspired to do more sport or physical activity* ranged between 35 and 88%. * % inspired to do more sport or physical activity (Common Indicator reference number SP-SP2.1) varies between survey samples (e.g. spectators v local residents) and event types (e.g. “accessible” sports v “combat” sports) Learn more about factors that can influence the inspirational effect an event can have on its audience, including an example from the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission International Masters Games Association 2024 Pan American Masters Games, at https://lnkd.in/eS_jk4Uh International Association of Event Hosts ASOIF Dr Alexander Chrysanthou Perttu Pesä Jidong WANG Olga Correia

The Health Enhancing Physical Activity Europe Conference has two weeks left until the abstract submission! As someone whose been involved with the network for years, I strongly encourage practitioners and policy makers also to apply! Especially on the topic of inclusion where there are so many learnings from the grassroots level. The conference is not only for academics and the cross-sectoral work is so important in the physical activity promotion field! ISCA - International Sport and Culture Association

🌟 Exploring Day 1 of the European Public Health Week: Health is a political choice: Starting the discussion 🗣💚 For the first day of the #EUPHW, we invite you to explore the intersection of health and politics. Event Highlights for Monday 🔸 Kick-off Event: Webinar - organised by EUPHA and partners 🔸 Radical Community Management Training 🔸 High-Level Panel: Lessons Learned and Future Challenges - a hybrid event co-organised with the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies, the WHO Regional Office for Europe, and the European Commission's DG SANTE. 📣To prepare this high-level panel, we invite you to debate in the comments on how the Covid pandemic impacted public health practices and policies. For Peter Allebeck, the Covid pandemic taught us that “as scientists, we need to learn to speak the political language without pretending to be politicians.” Martin McKee shares with us that “we failed to hear the views of those who were most affected by our decisions”. He insists that next time “We must make sure that everybody’s voice is heard.” To guide us, our panellists Agnes Buzyn, Francesca Colombo, Hans Kluge Sandra Gallina and Sara Cerdas will reflect on lessons learned and future challenges in European (and global) public health, with a special focus on innovation. 🤝 Let’s join forces and amplify our voice to bridge the gap between health and politics, and make sure that health stay high on the political agenda! #EUPHW #HealthIsAPoliticalChoice #UseYourVote #UseYourVote4Health #Vote4Health #HealthUnion Emilia Aragón De León / Iveta Nagyova / Tit Albreht / Josep Figueras
