The 15th June 2024 marked the 3rd International Day of Women in Mining (IDWiM). This is the day where the global mining industry comes together to celebrate and honour the women working in mining. The IWiM organisation's goals are to: - Support more women entering, advancing, and thriving in the mining sector, globally. - Promote knowledge-driven policies, impactful decisions and measurable progress for the whole industry. - Foster diverse, local WiM organisations for game-changing collective strength. - Strengthen existing relationships, foster new connections, maximise relevance and amplify their reach to bring about meaningful change. Food for thought: - In your company, region, or even commodity, are there any barriers for women to enter into mining? - Would you encourage the female love-ones in your life to join your workplace? - Are you proud of the culture where you work? If so, what are the key factors to achieve this?

Very interesting research on occupation health and employment concerns for women in the mining industry. Many of these factors, including maternity leave and childcare benefits, greatly affect women involvement in the industry. It's great to see research and developments made to diversify and improve access for women and families in these areas. #womeninmining
