Join us for Geosaurus Unleashed on Thursday, November 21st and help us celebrate Native American Heritage Month! Garet Couch, a citizen of the #Shawnee Tribe and CEO of the National Tribal Geographic Information Support Center (NTGISC), also known as Tribal GIS will be speaking on "GIS in Indian Country." Learn how Native American communities within the U.S. are using #geospatial technologies to protect the past and plan for the future. The concept of geospatial knowledge is deeply rooted in #tribal history, which goes back thousands of years. Since the inception of modern #GIS platforms, tribes have been using geospatial technologies to protect historical landscapes, cultural and natural resources. Today, geospatial technologies are being used to plan for #sustainable tribal growth and development while managing #data for an effective #government. As always, there will be #networking and free drinks/food! Register Here: https://lnkd.in/gX_ju8-B #DTN #stlouis #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth

🌟 Thrilling GIS Project Highlight: Analyzing NDVI Trends in Gundla Brahmeshwaram Wildlife Sanctuary, India 🌿🐾 🔍 In a recent semester project, I delved into the dynamic world of vegetation within Gundla Brahmeshwaram Wildlife Sanctuary using MODIS NDVI data. 💡 Key Steps: 1️⃣ Data Collection: Extracted MODIS NDVI data to assess vegetation health. 2️⃣ Spatial Focus: Confined analysis to Gundla Brahmeshwaram Wildlife Sanctuary. 3️⃣ Temporal Analysis: Tracked vegetation changes from 2018 to 2019. 4️⃣ Image Processing: Employed advanced techniques to visualize and analyze NDVI trends. 5️⃣ Insights: Revealed seasonal patterns and ecosystem dynamics through visualizations. 🌿 The resulting animation unveiled the sanctuary's rich biodiversity and highlighted ecological changes over time. 🚀 This project not only enhanced my GIS skills but also deepened my understanding of environmental monitoring applications. Excited for future geospatial endeavors! #GIS #RemoteSensing #VegetationAnalysis #EnvironmentalMonitoring #DataVisualization

30 day map challenge: Day 12 | Time and Space I’m thrilled to share a visualization of the territorial changes of the Qing Dynasty, comparing two significant years in its history: - 1820 (25th year of Jiaqing - 嘉慶二十五年): The Qing Dynasty's territory was at its peak, but the nation's strength began to decline (嘉道中衰). - 1911 (3rd year of Xuantong - 宣統三年): By this time—the final year of the dynasty—foreign powers had seized large portions of land, and the empire’s borders were significantly reduced. This map highlights how cartography and data visualization can bring history to life, offering insights into one of the most transformative eras in Chinese history. #30DayMapChallenge #TimeAndSpace #HistoricalMapping #QingDynasty #GIS #DataVisualization
