The 2024 ICA Global Conference in New Delhi will be Jeroen Douglas’s first as ICA Director-General. What are the top 3️⃣ things participants should look forward to? "This year’s edition will be packed with all kinds of wonderful features. We’ll have the launch of the UN International Year of Cooperatives 2025 with a keynote address by the Secretary General of the United Nations António Guterres; we expect to have dignitaries from India, Asia and further to give strong footage to the event and elevate the conference into a truly world-changing and world-class event. We also expect some inspirational leaders with strong keynote messages for a prosperous world. I cannot reveal the names yet as we are in the closing phase, but it’s all about the revival of #cooperatives, and a plea for a more sustainable economic future. We’ll also have a #coops film festival and an expo for #coops who wish to show their goods and services. We'll have cultural events and a #coopathon for the youth. There will be so much to see and do. It is our aspiration to build the best Global Conference in the history of the ICA." HANNOVER MESSE is under 200 days away 🤩. The ISED HM25 team has been on 🔥this week as we continue to accelerate preparations with our partners. Here are 3 things we are telling our team consistently: 1️⃣ “I trust you to advance this work” 2️⃣ “What do you need me to do?” 3️⃣ “Let’s schedule time to talk this through” The reasons: ➡️ Trusting teams = high performance teams. Also when we have this many work streams going on we need people to feel empowered to demonstrate leadership at all levels. ➡️ Analysts and managers need to work to become independent as appropriate at their stage of career development. Asking “what do you need me to do” encourages us to lean in when they need help and BACK OFF when they are doing just fine. ➡️ Collaboration and connection lead to better results. (Although apparently we are too loud 😐 sometimes) 💥Shout out to Anthony (Tony) Hahn, MA, mMBA and Corinne Guenette who are on this journey with me.
