Meet Manal Rostom, a true trailblazer and inspiration to women around the world. As the first Arab woman in a hijab to front a Nike campaign, Manal has redefined what it means to be an athlete and an advocate in the Arab world. A pharmacist, mountain climber, marathon runner, and the founder of ‘Surviving Hijab,’ she’s built a global community of over 800,000 women, supporting and empowering those who choose to wear the hijab. Through her achievements—from running marathons on the Great Wall of China to summiting Mont Blanc—Manal dismantles stereotypes and reshapes global perceptions of hijabi women. Her journey is a testament to resilience, strength, and the power of representation. Delighted to see improvement in the inclusion of women as part of the match officials at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), hosted by #cotedivoire. Though the statistics is still very low, as out of a total of 68 match officials, only 6 women were included, constituting approximately 9%. It however marks a noteworthy improvement compared to previous events and aligns with the objectives of #sdg5 aimed at achieving #genderequality and #womenempowerment. We look forward to witnessing even greater representation and inclusion of women in future events, fostering a more #diverse and #inclusive landscape in #football officiating. #afcon #africa #womeninfootball #genderequality #sdgs2030 #sustainabledevelopmentgoals #sustainability #esg #gesi #genderdiversity #genderequity #genderinclusion #genderinequality

🌟 Exciting Meeting with Ms. Abhilasha Poudel, Executive Director of FWEAN! 🌟 I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Abhilasha Poudel, the dynamic Executive Director of the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs of Nepal (FWEAN). FWEAN, under the inspiring leadership of its current president, Ms. Gyawali Shova, has been a pivotal force in empowering women entrepreneurs across Nepal. FWEAN spearheads several key initiatives to empower women entrepreneurs in Nepal. These include entrepreneurial training programs, access to finance, market linkages, policy advocacy, and networking opportunities. Additionally, they provide mentorship programs, run awareness campaigns on issues like climate change's impact on women's livelihoods, conduct research, and implement empowerment projects aimed at improving socio-economic status and promoting gender equality. My mother is a true testament to the power of resilience and determination. Despite not having formal education, she was an entrepreneurial partner alongside my father. Their success story is rooted in her remarkable people relationship skills, farsightedness, vision, and sheer hard work. Her ability to connect with people, foresee opportunities, and tirelessly work towards their goals played a pivotal role in their achievements. She has been an incredible inspiration, showing that with the right mindset and effort, one can overcome any challenge and succeed. During our insightful discussion, we explored potential collaboration in several key areas: Skill Development: Enhancing the capabilities of women entrepreneurs to thrive in their ventures. Mentorship: Providing guidance and support through experienced mentors. Empowerment: Fostering a supportive environment for women to excel. Risk Management Awareness: Raising awareness about the impact of climate change on women's livelihoods and developing strategies to mitigate these risks. Together, we aim to create a more resilient and empowered community of women entrepreneurs in Nepal. Looking forward to the incredible possibilities this collaboration holds! #WomenEntrepreneurs #Empowerment #SkillDevelopment #Mentorship #ClimateChange #RiskManagement #FWEAN #Collaboration #Leadership

Green Belt Movement Launches Initiative to Empower Women Entrepreneurs in Kenya The Green Belt Movement (GBM), in collaboration with the Women for Africa Foundation, has launched a new initiative aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs in Kenya. This initiative, part of the "Launch and Grow" program, seeks to enhance economic transformation and sustainability by building strong entrepreneurship networks. The event brought together over 50 women entrepreneurs and leaders from Kenya’s private sector. The primary agenda was to address key barriers faced by women in business, including limited mentorship and networking opportunities, and to create a collaborative platform for driving economic growth. The Launch and Grow Program, which started in 2016 in partnership with Babson College and Banco Santander, focuses on leadership training and business support. The current phase aims to strengthen existing networks and provide additional support to participants. A key highlight of the event was the introduction of the "Business Boost Prize," designed to recognize and reward innovative ideas from program alumni that contribute to economic growth, gender equality, and community impact. The meeting, held at the University of Nairobi’s Confucius Institute, served as a platform for participants to exchange experiences, build business relationships, and further strengthen the network of women entrepreneurs in Kenya. #Kenya #WomenEmpowerment #Entrepreneurship #GreenBeltMovement #Sustainability #EconomicGrowth

𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧'𝐬 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦! #𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐖𝐞𝐖𝐢𝐧 While the men's T20 World Cup win has dominated headlines, let's not forget the historic achievement of the Indian Women's Cricket Team! They recently shattered the record for the highest team total (603 for 6) in women's Test cricket, surpassing the previous best by a whopping 134 runs! A huge shoutout to openers Shafali Verma (205) and Smriti Mandhana (149) for their record-breaking 292-run partnership, the highest opening stand in women's cricket history! Despite this monumental achievement, the recognition and celebration of their success are still far from where it should be. This highlights a broader issue of gender inequality that extends beyond sports and into the corporate world. In many organizations, women's achievements often don't receive the spotlight they deserve. It’s time to change this narrative. Let's recognize, celebrate and support the contributions of women in all fields. Gender diversity isn’t just about equality; it’s about fostering an environment where everyone has the opportunity to excel and be acknowledged. Let's bridge the gap and make sure every achievement gets its due recognition. Celebrate successes, advocate for equality and champion diversity in every sphere.
