Is your job at risk from Generative AI? The time to prepare is now. Gen AI will transform industries, eliminating some jobs and creating new ones. In fact, according to the WSJ article, some companies already link their job cuts to new productivity gains from machine learning and AI. While new jobs, like prompt engineers, are already starting to pop up, transitioning to them is not straightforward. Think about the internet. Travel Agent – a formerly lucrative occupation –has almost disappeared. There are new jobs created by the internet such as SEO or website design but travel agents could not easily move to these new jobs. Something similar would happen in the GenAI era. Don't be caught off guard like travel agents were with the internet boom. Assess your job and your skills, and if you are at risk, start planning your next career move. #artificailIntelligence #careers #futureofwork #levelUpYourLi https://lnkd.in/gnVUmWna _______________ ➡️ About Me: I'm Talila Millman, a fractional CTO, management advisor, keynote speaker, and executive coach. 100%. The good news is that while AI has existed for a long time, it has only recently become as accessible to the masses. There is definitely a window of opportunity for upskilling.
One should always be looking to advance their skills - it's just good career advice. With AI, you can learn on your own to a large extent and continue to hone your skills which is great because you can learn about AI regardless of what job you currently have.

While leaders must be future-ready, I don’t think GenAI will eliminate most jobs. This being said, there is an actual requirement to continue updating one’s skillset to keep up with the rapid progress.
I choose to see the positive in AI: more learning, more information, more creativity and more productivity!
