#Chronicle 21- A Cautionary Tale: The #Nightmare of Flying with #AirMauritius I'm sharing this experience not just to vent, but to warn others about the unprofessional service I endured with #AirMauritius during our family trip in May 2024. After countless emails, phone calls, and endless attempts to resolve the issue, I feel it’s necessary to make this public, so no one else has to go through the same ordeal. Here’s how it unfolded: I was scheduled to fly from Mumbai to Mauritius on 11 May (Flight MK749, 02:45 AM). After arriving at Mumbai International Airport at 6:00 PM on 10 May from Visakhapatnam, I thought I had ample time to spare. But when I reached the airport, I was informed that Flight MK749 had been delayed to 04:45 AM the next day, with no prior communication. Seeing that Flight MK4749 (the previous flight) was also delayed for hours, I called customer support. They rebooked us on MK4749 departing at 11:30 PM. I thought the issue was resolved. Then the confusion intensified. Despite the rebooking, we continued to receive conflicting messages from Air Mauritius, stating that MK749 was rescheduled for 05:45 AM, even though we were already switched to MK4749. It only got worse at the airport. No communication from the staff (as no #Airmauritius staff present,the airport boards didn’t list MK4749, he on call customer support is clueless and don't know about the flight. Whom should we ask??? that too in a silent international airport???? Hours passed with no updates, and we were eventually told MK4749 might be cancelled. Meanwhile, my 8-year-old son was unwell, and there was no lounge access to rest.After both of us running around the empty airport in a panic, we were finally told we were being re-routed to Air Seychelles Flight HM261. Despite having paid a premium for our international flight with Air Mauritius, this was a complete downgrade: uncomfortable seats near the bathroom, no legroom, no in-flight entertainment, and food that was barely edible. This was not the international experience we expected, especially with a child. The worst part? I've continuously contacted Air Mauritius customer support since June 24. I’ve been redirected, ignored, and my emails and calls have gone unanswered. The level of unprofessionalism is truly shocking. Why keep a customer feedback form??? When no-one is reading and taking action #Airmauritius??? I'm sharing this to warn others about just how poor Air Mauritius’s customer service can be.
