#TLevels can provide the industry skills needed to progress onto an #apprenticeship, further learning or into employment - just ask Olivia! The T Level #Health student, from Exeter College, found the skills and experience she gained on her industry placement at the Devon Partnership NHS Trust helped her to progress onto a Degree Apprenticeship. After securing a placement with the Learning Disability Team and supporting patients across different wards, Olivia successfully applied for the Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship within the Trust. She believes the training and hands-on experience gained during her placement was crucial in helping her take the next step in her NHS career. She said: "T Levels allowed me to gain lots of hands-on experience, both in the classroom and out in a hospital. "When applying for the apprenticeship...I was able to share all the learning in and out of the classroom, meeting many of the essential and desirable criteria. "It shows the hiring manager that are looking through the applications that you are already experienced in healthcare and will more likely get you an interview." Today is National Nurses Day! On this special occasion, we want to highlight a unique pathway into this noble profession – registered apprenticeship. The U.S. economy is in the midst of a massive labor shortage. Registered apprenticeships help healthcare organizations elevate their workforce development strategy, and attract and retain talent. According to the American Health Association, “600,000 nurses plan to leave the field by 2027.” RADD can help you select appropriate related instruction providers, help you enroll your candidates into the programs and work with the DOL on your behalf to ensure all requirements are satisfied. Further, according to the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, “the federal government projects that more than 203,000 new registered nurse positions will be created each year from 2021-2031.” Registered apprenticeships can solve this problem. We are specialized and experienced in developing and maintaining registered apprenticeship programs across a variety of industries. Our full-service apprenticeship management service can act as a virtual training manager and support the tracking and reporting of individual apprentice progress. At RADD Training, Our expert consultants can help you utilize the power of Registered Apprenticeship. Visit our website at https://buff.ly/48B4GmL to learn more information. Having a registered apprenticeship program at your organization can help potential employees “bypass traditional requirements” for your positions such as education or experience barriers.” Apprenticeships remove as many barriers as possible while ensuring high quality training for your employees. Apprenticeships are a great way for organizations to broaden their talent pool. They provide excellent career pathways for apprentices, as well as create dedicated and qualified personnel for your business. #apprenticeship #leadershipdevelopment #hr #workforcedevelopment #manufacturing #business #hiring

The communities in the North Carolina foothills of the Appalachian Mountains faced a challenge: Promising local students who wanted to work in health care would leave to attend college outside the region, and never return. Combating their health care workforce shortage required an apprenticeship program made possible through next-level collaboration among four public school districts, Surry Community College, and Northern Regional Hospital — a partnership supported by the Strada Employer and Community College Partnership Challenge. Today the Surry-Yadkin Works apprenticeship program is ranked No. 1 in North Carolina for apprenticeship enrollment among community colleges. Other communities in the state are taking notice and looking to replicate Surry’s success. In the words of Skylar Mosley, a registered nurse apprentice who had planned to complete the pre-apprenticeship at Northern Regional Hospital and then attend a four-year college: “I chose to take advantage of the opportunity to earn my RN degree for free as an apprentice, while gaining hands-on experience and completing clinicals at NRH.” “As a first-generation college student, this combination of financial freedom and high-quality education is an incredible opportunity.” Adds Chris Lumsden, president and CEO of Northern Regional Hospital: “This program is a gigantic win for our students, hospital, local schools, and community.” #NationalApprenticeshipWeek #NAW2024

👩⚕️ Tackling the NHS workforce crisis👨⚕️ In the final part of The Guardian seminar series, our Vice-chancellor and chief executive, Professor Kathryn Mitchell and Pro vice-chancellor and dean of the University of Derby’s college of health, psychology and social care Dr Denise Baker discuss the fresh approach to recruitment and education adopted at University of Derby that aims to tackle the rising demand for healthcare workers, and the challenges in filling these vacancies, with our degree apprenticeships. 💊 #derbyuni has been awarded £1.5m in funding to launch new courses within health and social care, which will boost social mobility and offer employers the benefits of a more diverse workforce. These degree apprenticeships are fully funded through the apprenticeship levy and are perfect for people already working in the sector who before did not think going to university was a possibility. ⚕ While some healthcare apprenticeships are delivered with local NHS trusts, others have been developed in partnership with private providers whose needs were key in shaping the innovative ways programmes are offered. In 2023, 123,335 students applied to study a medicine or healthcare-related course, with almost 1/3 of them expressing interest in apprenticeships. At UCAS, we are dedicated to raising awareness about apprenticeship pathways into medical professions. Here’s Jane Hadfield, NHS England’s National Apprenticeship Lead talking about their partnership with UCAS, and how together we can provide more opportunities for aspiring doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals who seek alternatives to traditional university routes. #EarlyCareers #Employers #NHSCareers

Remember that moment you first stepped into a clinical setting? Fresh out of school, heart racing and hands steadying? The feeling that all the books, exams, and lectures had led to this—the place where it all becomes real. For new nurses, this transition is more than just a career milestone; it’s stepping into a role that asks for resilience, precision, and compassion—all at once. This is where nursing apprenticeships make the difference. They provide the support, mentorship, and hands-on experience that bridge the gap between learning in theory and practicing in the real world. Transitioning with an apprenticeship, new nurses aren’t just thrown into the deep end. With every shift, they gain confidence, hone their decision-making, and learn to manage patient care with growing autonomy. The benefits go beyond skill-building. Nursing apprenticeships help reduce burnout, boost retention, and foster a stronger sense of purpose and connection within healthcare teams. And for patients, this means care from nurses who are better prepared, more resilient, and deeply committed to delivering compassionate, top-quality service. #NursingApprenticeships #TruMontApprenticeships #TransitionToPractice #HealthcareTraining #NursingMentorship
