This is a good start. Of course it needs to be calibrated to actual scale.
Excited to share some good news on the K-12 cybersecurity front 👏🏽 Through a new pilot program announced yesterday, the Federal Communications Commission will provide up to $200 million in competitive grants over the next three years to help schools and libraries purchase advanced firewalls, anti-virus protection technology, and other cybersecurity equipment. Equipment and tools are great to have in your arsenal; however, I hope school district leaders don't loose focus on the importance of end-user education as an essential component of a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy. It's high-time we find effective ways to "educate the educators" in order to maximize our resources and efforts. #education #cybersecurity #K12 #cyberattacks #federalgovernment #riskmanagement #localgovernment

📢 Symposit Cybersecurity News! 📢 The FCC has just unveiled a groundbreaking cybersecurity pilot program for K-12 schools and libraries. Over the next three years, this initiative will allocate up to $2 million from the Universal Service Fund to help strengthen cybersecurity measures in these critical public institutions. Applications for this program will open on August 29. With the increasing frequency of cyberattacks targeting school districts and public resources, this program comes at a crucial time. These institutions often lack the technology staff and funding needed to protect themselves, as we saw with the Seattle Public Library ransomware event we reported on earlier this summer. This initiative is a commendable example of our government responding proactively to the ever-changing cybersecurity landscape. It underscores the importance of all sectors staying up to speed on cybersecurity measures to protect against evolving threats. At Symposit, we are proud to have helped and continue to help both government and private sector organizations bolster their cybersecurity defenses. Ensuring robust cybersecurity is vital for safeguarding our digital infrastructure and protecting our communities.
