In today's digital landscape, especially with politics, everyone is responsible for scrutinizing the content they consume and share. The proliferation of misinformation, particularly by foreign actors, often targets sensitive societal issues to incite confusion and division, as recent cases in Pennsylvania highlighted. --Misinformation around crucial events like elections can destabilize democratic processes and erode trust in institutions many rely on. --Misinformation spreads rapidly through unchecked sharing on social media and other platforms, especially when manipulated by foreign bad actors. These actors aim to disrupt societal peace and weaken public trust in legitimate information sources, fueling unrest. Each of us plays a role in countering this by validating information with credible sources and discouraging the blind sharing of sensational or unverified claims. As a cybersecurity company, TANDMM emphasizes the importance of verification. The damage misinformation can cause mirrors many cybersecurity threats: both are preventable through awareness, vigilance, and commitment to truth. Ensuring you rely on verified information helps protect the digital integrity of communities and strengthens resilience against those seeking to exploit it for malicious purposes. Let’s work together to uphold a secure, informed, and resilient society by choosing our sources wisely and sharing only what is true and verified. #electionsecurity #fightmisinformation #checktwicebelieveonce

Just over a fortnight to go for the UK elections and I cannot understand why not 1 party is even speaking about the electoral breach. Trust and previous past incidents, such as the cyber-attack on the UK’s Electoral Commission, can erode public trust. Rebuilding this trust requires transparent communication about what happened and what has been done since to prevent future incidents, which may not always be adequately addressed or publicised. How important is this to the people themselves, their children identity to be protected? How much UK money is lost to cyber theft. Will the UK votes be tampered with? All these questions again no answer provided. What disinformation has been prepared and sent out via different systems? Worrying very worrying times ahead.

Compare with #Trump's response to #Russia's hacking of the Democratic Party in 2016 and vote for the candidate who doesn't willfully play into the hands of a hostile foreign intelligence agency for his own political gain and at the expense of the United States. Vote for the candidate who isn't probably a traitor to Russia or some transnational autocratic oligarchy. "Globalists" is an epithet that Trump loyalists like to levy against Progressives (whom I distinguish from the Regressive Left) but in reality there are two general notions of globalism in operation here. That of the Progressives is sometimes overreaching or underestimating of various obstacles that must be worked through and also sometimes too squeamish about the exercise of American power but is about advancing essentially greater balance in the world; that of the Trumpists is about the powerful and oppressive allying with each other across national borders to keep the rest of us divided against each other and therefore unable to combine against them. #2024election #Iran #informationwarfare
“Iranian hackers sought to interest President Joe Biden’s campaign in information stolen from rival Donald Trump’s campaign, sending unsolicited emails to people associated with the then-Democratic candidate in an effort to interfere in the 2024 election, the FBI and other federal agencies said Wednesday.” https://lnkd.in/d4Ucib8N
