Celebrating Inclusion at Work Week: The Power of Bystander Intervention Inclusion at Work Week Nov 18th - 24th is about creating workplaces where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered. And a critical component of achieving an inclusive work environment is bystander intervention. By stepping up and speaking out, bystanders can significantly impact workplace culture and promote inclusivity when they witness discrimination, harassment, or exclusionary behaviour. And just to be clear…bystander intervention isn’t about confrontation! Instead, it’s about timely, constructive actions that can prevent harmful behaviours and reinforce that exclusionary conduct has no place at work. Implementing strong bystander intervention practices leads to many benefits, including: Increased employee satisfaction and engagement Improved retention rates, especially among underrepresented groups Enhanced innovation and creativity through diverse perspectives Stronger team cohesion and collaboration With proven benefits to employee wellbeing, innovation, and organisational performance, what’s not to celebrate about Inclusion@Work?
