Are you a Wizard or a Prophet? In my latest blogpost on Ecohydraulics.org, I was wondering about the mindset of our community - on a broader scale, this question was exhaustively discussed on Freakonomics radio - a "must-hear" episode! ⬇️
As we enter 2025, we started with a new blogpost on ecohydraulics.org, with an intriguing question: Are ecohydraulicists wizards mastering the art and science of environmental flows with precision and ingenuity? Or are we prophets envisioning sustainable futures and guiding water management with foresight and wisdom? https://lnkd.in/e-UzQFib Cast your vote/opinion in the poll below and help shape our shared identity. https://lnkd.in/eXPCz4CC Either way, ecohydraulicists will continue making waves! Happy New Year 2025!

Purpose has been at the heart of everything I do. As someone speaking around the world known as an ‘Ambassador for Purpose,’ I truly believe that every business will eventually become purpose-led as the world is starting to wake up to purpose! When Tony Greenham, MD of the British Business Bank, invited me to join the panel he’s moderating at the Blue Earth Summit on October 17th, 2024, Oct 17, 09:50 AM - 10:30 AM, discussing The Road to Redemption or a Cul-de-Sac of Distraction, the answer was an easy yes! The panel will focus on Purpose—but what does that word really mean in today’s technology-driven world? In today’s business landscape, the notion of being purpose-led has taken on many interpretations. Some might say a business can say they are purpose-driven without directly aiming for positive social or environmental impact. But then, where do we set the boundaries? Navigating this space requires clarity - understanding what makes purpose resonate, while also recognizing potential pitfalls. Aligning profit with purpose is more than just good intentions; it’s about creating sustainable, long-term impact while driving commercial returns. I’m excited to explore these questions and more with an incredible panel of industry leaders: Guy Singh-Watson (Riverford Organic Farmers), Andy Brown (Anglian Water Services), Anna Shiel (Better Society Capital), moderated by Tony Greenham. Looking forward to diving deep into the conversation around Purpose! What question would you pose to the panel and maybe we can get Tony to pick the best one for the comments below 👇 Let me know if you will be attending the Blue Earth Summit (link in the comments below) 👇
