Awal betul kau datang. It is my habit to attend kenduri kahwin as early as reasonably possible. Like today, invitation from my office colleague for guest started at 11.00 am, I was already there at 11.05am. That’s really early, mesti tak ramai orang. That’s the point, also: 🍔 Still few people so easy to find seat 🍔 Parking far easier to get 🍔 Food were freshly cooked and still plenty - can choose around 🍔 Less bising 🍔 Table still bersih 🍔 Faster turnaround (greet-eat-talk a bit-bid goodbye-chow) 🍔 Other event(s)/jemputan to attend, cannot stay for long. Selamat Hari Raya Puasa 6 and Happy Batik Thursday everyone! Alhamdulillah, I finished my 6-day optional fasting yesterday after a month of obligatory fasting during Ramadan. Jokingly, I can say that today is my Hari Raya Puasa 6. In general, Puasa 6 is challenging since a few people observe it because it is optional rather than obligatory. Nonetheless, the rewards are as handsome as if you had fasted for the entire year. Malaysians celebrate Hari Raya Aidil Fitri throughout the month of Shawwal, but not at the expense of their jobs. Massive traffic bottlenecks will occur on weekends in Klang Valley as people attend many open houses or visit friends and relatives. Corporations entertain their clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders on business days. This is a positive step towards the goal of building business contacts in a casual setting. It's also a great place to make new business connections. So, which one is more important: to observe Puasa 6 or attend a corporate open house? To me, both are equally important since the former is for your direct contact with God and the latter is for your direct engagement with human beings, including your business friends. I believe it all comes down to proper planning and time management. Puasa 6 can be observed on any six days of the month of Shawwal. My hometown is located in Kampung Sawah, at the foot of Gunung Pulai, and nearby to it, there is a team building / survival camp venue called 𝐊𝐞𝐦 𝐊𝐚𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐧 𝐆𝐮𝐧𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐢. I think I was in primary school (somewhere between 9-12 years old) when I was introduced use the word 𝐊𝐚𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐧. At the time, I associated it to the team building camping ground nearby my home. At 12 years old, I only thought of the catchy name as Japanese origin, without really putting much thought to it. Over the years, I learnt that it goes back to the phrase “𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲” Fast forward to 2018, I first learned about 𝐈𝐊𝐈𝐆𝐀𝐈 during a brownbag session with Dr. Reza Abraham. A short session but it was really engaging.
