✨ It’s Awards Night! ✨ The Tapestry Research team has swapped dashboards for dinner tables and is looking suspiciously well-dressed at the Market Research Society (MRS) Awards tonight. Black tie might not be our usual vibe, but here we are, ready to see if we can bag one (or more?) of the three awards we’re up for. We’d like to say we’re confident, but let’s be honest – the competition is tough, and our poker faces are terrible. Huge congrats to all the other finalists, and a respectful nod to whoever takes home the trophies. Stay tuned for updates – and maybe the odd blurry photo.

A couple of weeks ago I squared up on my self employed personal income tax for the June 15th deadline, hopefully for the last time. If you are an investment advisor in Canada and you feel like I do; it’s time we are permitted to incorporate our practices. I encourage you to talk to your dealer. See what they are doing to make this happen. #taxplanner #wealthmanagement

On my way to judge a coffee competition, and I’m reminded of how vital community is in our industry. Competitions like these aren’t just about showcasing skills—they’re about bringing people together, sharing knowledge, and supporting each other’s growth. As someone who has competed, coached, judged, and trained judges, I’ve seen firsthand the impact of a strong, supportive community. The coffee community thrives on collaboration and mutual support. Events like this allow us to celebrate our craft, learn from one another, and push the boundaries of what we can achieve. It’s inspiring to see so many passionate individuals come together. Supporting these competitionsl is crucial, not just by joining to gain something, but by truly contributing to the industry. Year after year, we see people come and go, but those who understand the importance of giving back consistently put in the time and effort. The community needs more of these dedicated individuals. These competitions provide a platform for baristas and coffee professionals to shine, gain recognition, and drive innovation in the industry. It’s through these shared experiences that we strengthen our community and elevate the standards of our craft. #coffeecompetitions #contribute #payitforward

Thr Effect of Rheum ribes Root (Rhubarb) on Menopausal Hot Flashes: A Randomized Double-Blind, Study-Iran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran. Abstract Background and objectives: Hot flashes are one of the most predominant complaints of menopause among women. The main treatment is hormone replacement therapy, which has side effects. Therefore, the use of plants with phytoestrogen has been suggested as an adjunctive treatment. This study aimed to estimate the efficacy of processed rhubarb (Rheum ribes L.) on hot flashes in postmenopausal women. Methods: This double-blind placebo-controlled trial was performed on postmenopausal women who were referred to public health centers at Iran University of Medical Sciences. Ninety postmenopausal women aged over 45 years with menopausal hot flashes were randomly assigned to two groups. The treatment group received 500 mg of encapsulated processed R. ribes twice a day for eight weeks, and the control group received placebo (starch powder) in the same manner. Data were collected using Blatt–Kupperman index at the start of the study, fourth and eighth weeks after the intervention. Descriptive and analytic statistics were used to analyze the data. Results: A total of 74 patients completed the study (39 participants in the intervention group and 35 in the control group). The results showed that R. ribes significantly decreased the mean of flashing in Blatt–Kupperman index four and eight weeks post-intervention (p<0.001). Rheum ribes showed no serious adverse effects. Conclusion: The findings of this study propose that treatment with R. ribes may be considered an adjunctive treatment for hot flashes in postmenopausal women.

Winning an Award: It's More Than Just the Trophy! Did you know that winning an award opens doors far beyond the accolade itself? it's not just about the moment of victory; there's a whole world of extras that come with it, often overlooked but incredibly valuable. Take, for example, the opportunity to be featured in prestigious publications – a benefit that's worth its weight in gold. Normally, securing a spot in a leading magazine can be costly, but winning an award can land you that coveted space for free. And it's not just any advertisement; it's a feature that celebrates your achievement, adding an extra layer of credibility and recognition. So, the next time you're considering entering an award, remember it's not just about the win – it's about the journey and the doors it opens.

What’s an award worth these days? In the age of participation trophies and endless accolade inflation, it seems like everyone has a shiny statue to show off. But let’s be honest, do these awards truly represent excellence, or are they just another checkbox in the race for recognition? Don’t get me wrong, being acknowledged feels great, but when every other post is about yet another ‘industry award,’ it makes you wonder about the real value behind these honors. Are they driving genuine innovation and setting industry standards, or simply boosting egos and marketing campaigns? Maybe it’s time we shift our focus from collecting accolades to creating real impact. After all, true success isn’t measured by the number of trophies on your shelf, but by the difference you make and the legacy you leave behind. #IndustryThoughts #RealImpact #BeyondAwards

We live in a world where we’re constantly fed a newsfeed of trophies. Another promotion. Another award. Another acknowledgement. Another “win.” Comparison is looking at someone’s progress and thinking: they’re better/further along/smarter/stronger/faster than me. Inspiration is looking at someone’s progress and thinking: look what they were able to do, maybe I can do something like that too? I find it easier to by inspired by someone’s words or actions rather than their medals. Medals aren’t bad, but they’re often the catalyst for comparison because they’re designed to emulate a status. Comparison is looking at other people’s progress as the absence of your own. Inspiration is looking at other people’s progress as evidence that it’s possible for you. Know the difference before you scroll 💛
