🌿 Deadline 10 December: Don’t forget to have your say on the Digital Product Passport (DPP)! The DPP is a game-changer for promoting sustainability and transparency in the EU market. Introduced under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation, the DPP will act as a digital identity card for products, revealing key information about sustainability, recyclability, and environmental impact. By providing electronic access to crucial data, the DPP aims to empower consumers, manufacturers, and authorities to make better choices. This initiative is a significant stride towards a circular economy and will support eco-friendly practices across Europe. We are now calling on stakeholders—especially SMEs, recyclers, and manufacturers—to share their views on potential requirements for DPP service providers and the feasibility of a certification scheme to ensure compliance. 🔗 Share your insights: https://lnkd.in/gamqEAQk

How do we unpack sustainability impact? One way is by helping brands measure the environmental impact of their packaging. At Berlin Packaging | Dangerous Goods, we use life-cycle assessments (LCAs) to quantify a product’s environmental impact over the course of its entire life cycle, including materials, sourcing, manufacturing, distribution, and end-of-life. This allows brands to understand their product impact across multiple environmental metrics such as greenhouse gas emissions, water use, mineral resource use, and fossil fuel use. Our process aligns with ISO 14040 guidelines. With these quantifiable and fact-based metrics, we empower brands to make informed decisions on their packaging choices. We help develop sustainable packaging strategies and roadmaps, ensuring a responsible and impactful approach to packaging solutions. 📢 📢 #BreakingNews: Yesterday, the final vote for the adoption of Ecodesign Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) took place at the Plenary of the European Parliament. A.I.S.E. welcomes the objectives of the revised Regulation on Ecodesign, which will enable a comprehensive and harmonised set of requirements for the improvement of circularity and sustainability of products placed on the EU market. ♻️🌿 The concept of the Digital Product Passport (DPP) is one of the key elements featured in ESPR – an innovative tool aiming to enable the sharing of product information across the value chain. 📝 🎯 As the provisions on the DPP for #detergent products will originate both from ESPR and the ongoing Detergents Regulation revision, A.I.S.E. International Association for Soaps, Detergents and Maintenance Products believes that for a successful implementation of the DPP on detergents, particular attention should be given to: 1. consistent timing of the two regulations and the potential challenges they will pose to the industry; 2. consistency and interoperability requiring a single system for detergent products: the DPP should adhere to a horizontal framework, with system standards to be defined. #ESPR #DPP #Plenary #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #ValueChain
