Next up… Alice Kim! 🥁 🥁 We met Alice a few weeks ago (thanks, Brian Roisentul! 😁) and LOVED talking with her. Her energy and passion are incredibly contagious! Here’s a crazy question she asked us - do you know what the most common bra size in the US? It’s probably not what you’d guess (at least stacey and I didn’t guess correctly!)… It’s a 34DD. (Google it if you don’t believe me 😁). Yet, NO ONE designs stylish, fitting, feminine, and classic clothes specifically for this group of women. Either things are way too tight, or they fit like a tent. That being said, think of HOW MANY WOMEN are currently wearing shirts and clothes that gape open at the buttons? Alice has solved this problem with her company, PerfectDD, and her collection of flattering styles in quality, sustainable fabrics. After having worked in the fashion industry for two decades for leading luxury brands including Victoria’s Secret & Co., Prada Group, and DVF (Diane von Furstenberg), and seeing this massive void, Alice got to work and has created a whole line that fits her chest (and so many others!) without being baggy everywhere else. I must say, building a business as a woman entrepreneur has been one of the most challenging journeys of my life. When I first started out, I wasn’t fully prepared for the weight of the responsibilities and the need to make decisions that would shape my brand and impact others. But I knew one thing for sure: I wanted to bring something meaningful to the fashion industry. I wanted to create a brand that didn’t just follow trends but one that empowered people to feel comfortable and confident in their own skin. That’s why for me, Ojiioma wasn’t just about shapewear. It was about celebrating every body type and redefining beauty standards that for too long had left many out. Along the way, there have been moments of self-doubt, the struggle to balance work and personal life, and the constant need to prove myself in spaces where women are still underrepresented. But what’s been amazing is the network of support from other women entrepreneurs, each bringing their unique vision and perspective to the industry. Together, we’re challenging norms, promoting inclusivity, and pushing for change in an industry that’s finally embracing diversity. I was so privileged to be on a panel with three incredible female founders: the ‘queen of denim’ Donna Ida Thornton, Monique Vega Hodgson the mastermind behind the incredible community Mumble Forum  and Amanda Cronin, luxury high performance skincare brand. ⁠ We delved into the core of branding and examined the intricate dance between a founder’s identity and their public brand.⁠ ⁠ But what struck me, in a world with platforms like Instagram and LinkedIn, is that everyone could be considered a personal brand.⁠ ⁠ They're stages for self-expression and opinion, sculpting both our professional journeys and personal narratives.⁠ ⁠ A key word that resonated deeply was ‘authenticity.’ If being authentic means being open, honest, and transparent, it also means sometimes, being vulnerable. ⁠ ⁠ But how do we balance this when we can feel pressured to maintain a certain, even at times, ‘perfect’ image? ⁠ ⁠ To that I say, let’s be our true and most powerful selves and let that guide our public persona. ⁠ ⁠ Believe in ourselves and our unique voices.
