🌟 **Time for Real Change: Equality for All Veterans and Beyond!** 🌟 As Sgt. McGee sat in a veteran's clinic, he couldn't help but witness the unfair treatment of a Hispanic veteran's family. This moment ignited a fire that led to the creation of the United States and Latin Veterans Support Embassy. But our mission extends far beyond veterans; it's about ensuring every entrepreneur, regardless of background, has a fair shot at success. The US and Latin Veterans International Chamber of Commerce emerged from the frustration with government programs that are supposed to uplift us but often do the opposite. Why should being part of a majority require certification? Why should obtaining support hinges on needless bureaucracy? The current system feels rigged—especially with Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) operating under rules that claim inclusivity yet fail to deliver. Enough is enough! We call for an end to this bureaucratic nonsense designed to protect outdated job security for a few while neglecting countless deserving individuals. **We demand:** 1️⃣ Streamlined access to resources for ALL minority entrepreneurs. 2️⃣ A fair and transparent process without unnecessary certifications. 3️⃣ Genuine support from the government that advocates for every business, not just a select few. The time for change is now. We won’t settle for band-aid solutions. We deserve real action and accountability. Stand with us and let's create a landscape where every entrepreneur can thrive, not just those who fit the mold. This is about dignity, respect, and equitable opportunity for all. #EqualOpportunity #VeteransSupport #NoMoreBureaucracy #USLatinsUnited

“I love this f$&kin country” - Sean Daley, founder of Rhymesayers Entertainment. As a straight (relatively white) male business owner, this may read wrong to many, but hear me out: I’ve posted at length criticizing various #policies at #state / #local / #federal level - from #immigration to #healthcare and #natsec. But the harsh reality is that #America is at a crossroads - we can either continue to perpetuate this self immolation via #polarization, or we can move forward with the realistic understanding that: Every 4 to 8 years (for the last 80), America has had regime change - without much detriment to our core values as a society. While I (personally) view social #progress as an inevitable force - ‘how’ we create outcomes for our fellow citizens matters - part of that is through compromise. Listen, I don’t get along with some/many of you (even those who I used to consider friends) but the reality is that our differences need to be put aside for the benefit of tackling some profoundly tough problems (in no particular order): - #economy - #security - #energy - #education - #environment I am naively hoping that the outgoing administrations deeply re-evaluates their own ‘connective tissue’ with (what’s left of) #middleclass citizens and #voters. Without an intentional effort to ‘meet in the middle’, our political dynamics are bound to spiral out of control and further erode #trust between not just us citizens, but between the #public and #government. As the child of immigrants whose home country was destroyed by the same dynamics, let me tell you: the stakes have never been higher - there is no ‘Plan B’ and nobody is coming to save this nation - it’s 💯 on us to fix it. Start by respectfully engaging with people whose opinions differ than yours, connect with them on a human level to share a deeper sense of understanding. Focus on what brings us together vs tears us apart. Remember that I love you, even if you hate me… 😉🙏🏻 📸: the road forward is filled with unseen curves, it’s not just about the journey or where you end up, but the people you meet along the way…

The 15|55 Cohort is exactly what lending needs. We need to stop our shift back towards institutionalized lending. This should be mandatory for all CDFIs.
On #Juneteenth, we celebrate the hard-fought freedoms won by those who came before us. It is a day of joy, but also a day of somber reflection on how much further we need to go. At CapEQ, we work to invest in Black-owned businesses, today and everyday, because we know that they are not supported at the same levels as their white counterparts. Watch our Path to 15|55 documentary short that dives into how supporting Black-owned businesses creates jobs and will add $55 billion to our economy.
