Target ALS grant recipient Javier Oroz, PhD, is working to improve ALS diagnosis, which remains notoriously difficult. Dr. Oroz’s lab is studying a protein, TDP-43, which is linked to 97% of ALS cases. The goal of the project is to identify TDP-43 in patient samples to reliably diagnose #ALS and track disease progression. This critical work could be the key to earlier diagnosis and more effective ALS clinical trials. 💡 #ALSResearch #DiagnosingALS #ALS #EveryoneLives #ALSClinicalTrials

💥 Chronic Lyme Disease has been a controversial subject of debate within the medical field for years, due to its lack of biomarkers, complex diagnosis and treatment. There is also a diverse array of definitions from varying stakeholders. But as researchers progress toward a better understanding of the disease and develop better diagnostic and treatment options, Chronic Lyme Disease is being taken more seriously. That said, Chronic Lyme is still not a CDC-recognized diagnosis. Mainstream media recognition has garnered new support that is a huge boon for the Chronic Lyme community. It is catalyzing more interest in research, which is a good thing. Science will bridge the gap between current knowledge and patient experience. 👉 Read more: “Long Dismissed, Chronic Lyme Disease Is Finally Getting Its Moment,” by Jamie Ducharme, @TIME 🔗https://buff.ly/3UP78AU #ChronicLymeDisease #Lyme #ExcellenceUnscripted #KeynoteSpeaker #MotivationalSpeaker
