As citizens, we hold the power to shape the future of our nation through one of the most fundamental rights granted to us: the right to vote. Choosing our country's leaders is not just a privilege; it's a responsibility that directly impacts the trajectory of our society, economy, and collective well-being. In these critical times, when the stakes are high and the challenges are manifold, it's imperative that we unite in our commitment to democracy by ensuring that every eligible voice is heard and every ballot is counted. Let's strive for nothing less than a 100% voter turnout in every election. Whether it's local, regional, or national, each vote contributes to the mosaic of our democracy, painting a picture of the collective will of the people. When we all participate in the democratic process, we uphold the values of fairness, equality, and justice that are the cornerstones of a thriving society. Our diversity of perspectives strengthens the fabric of our democracy and fosters inclusive governance. Remember, the decisions made today will shape the world of tomorrow for ourselves and future generations. So let's pledge to exercise our right to vote and encourage others to do the same. Together, let's make a difference and build a brighter future for our nation. #EveryVoteCounts #DemocracyMatters #Vote100%

Good policy and good elected representatives equals good outcomes. In this election, we have the serious choice to continue a healthy democracy that is working for all the people, equitably and caringly, towards a future that will boost everyone and not exclude or harm others. Democracy thrives in light and hope, not in threats, retaliation or oppression. This November 5th voting matters for the present, the future and for all the sacrifices made to ensure our democracy continues to grow. We should never go back to a time where democracy is less obtainable. Please vote with that in mind. Peace. #PolicyMatters #Vote2024

The Power of One: Embracing Civic Responsibility through Voting In today's fast-paced world, it’s easy to feel like a single vote might not make a difference. However, a responsible citizen understands that every vote is a powerful tool for shaping the future. Casting a vote is more than a civic duty; it's an impactful act of participation in democracy. This small yet significant action reflects a commitment to community and country. It’s a declaration of hope and belief in the power of collective voices. By voting, citizens not only influence policies and leadership but also set an example for others, inspiring engagement and fostering a culture of accountability. Every vote counts. Every voice matters. By stepping into the polling booth, a responsible citizen champions the values of democracy and takes an active role in steering society towards progress. So, let us all be that responsible citizen who cast her vote, knowing that even the smallest actions can lead to substantial change. #responsiblecitizen #voter #election2024 #proudindian #democracy #shubhrachaturvedi #softskillstrainershubhra #softskills #motivation

The proposed Municipal Affairs Statutes Amendment Act, 2024 in Alberta aims to enhance transparency, standardize local election rules, and provide oversight in municipal governance. This legislation focuses on clarifying candidate eligibility, campaign financing, and third-party advertising while maintaining a balance between local autonomy and provincial authority, adapting to current circumstances and ensuring public input and accountability throughout the legislative process. In Canada, provinces hold superior authority over municipalities, establishing a hierarchical relationship rather than one of equals. Municipal governments are creations of the provinces, with assigned duties and responsibilities. Unlike provincial governments, municipalities lack constitutionally recognized existence, deriving their powers from provincial law. Each province has its own Municipal Act outlining municipal powers. While municipalities are democratically elected and have powers such as taxation and bylaw creation, their autonomy is limited by various restrictions. These include the need for provincial approval for bylaws, strict control over borrowing for capital projects, appeals of local planning decisions to provincial agencies, and shared provincial-municipal jurisdiction in areas like the environment. Municipalities are accountable to their electorates and provincial authorities, though the level of accountability varies among provinces. The relationship between municipalities and provincial governments can be complex, with tensions arising from differing interests and priorities. In summary, while municipalities play a crucial role in local governance, their powers and existence are ultimately determined by provincial legislation. The lefty loons, funded by the union war chest, keep taking over our city councils and spending their way into oblivion through pet projects, weird art, business-unfriendly bylaws, soaring taxes, making personal issues like gender identity a political wedge, climate hysteria and growing their bureaucracies. Is this a better way to know a candidate's true political leanings? Is this how conservatives stop splitting the vote? What does #albertaproud think?
