Vehicle inventory is getting back to 2020 levels, but some models are still in tight/high demand. https://lnkd.in/gS6TzV26 Rising inventory numbers are *not* evenly distributed across brands. Highest Days' Supply (slowest selling): Jeep Ram Jaguar Alfa Romeo Dodge Lincoln Chrysler Lowest Days' Supply (fastest selling): Toyota Lexus Honda Kia Subaru Porsche Land Rover Chevrolet So, while inventory has risen significantly, certain brands are flooded with supply while others are still below demand equilibrium. Top 5 vehicle brands listed for sale by consumers on The Lasso (in 2024): 1. Chevrolet (↑3 vs 2023) 2. Ford 3. Toyota (↓2 vs 2023) 4. Jeep 5. Nissan Biggest takeaway – More consumers are holding on to Toyotas, likely due to concerns about a potential economic downturn and what they call on Wall Street: “a flight to quality.” Notably… Jeep and Nissan make the list for the first time this year, both grappling with disappointing new car sales and concerns about their residual values. This shift in available used cars is forcing dealers to make some tough choices: Pass on struggling brands… Or take a risk on less desirable vehicles, hoping they can still find a buyer.
