These taglines encapsulate more than just nostalgia; they represent a deep-rooted connection that transcends time. Yesterday, I had a conversation with Atul Mathur, a former colleague who led Learning & Development at IDEA Cellular Ltd. until it merged with Vodafone. Atul was in Delhi to attend SHRM India' HR conference, I saw a post and in that pics, Atul was there. So called him, and we spoke at length, it just started from where we might have left last, about professions, families and colleagues. No formalities, No hiccups!!
The same kind of warmth in relationship we enjoy with colleagues from Tata Steel.
The question arises: What is it about certain organizations that enables them to create an enduring cultural identity—one that resonates well beyond a specific time period, merger, or market change? It’s not just about a name or a logo but the values, the sense of belonging, and the organizational DNA that are embedded in daily interactions, decisions, and leadership practices.
To cultivate such a legacy, companies need to:
