Thrilled to announce the publication of our latest open-access publication in the journal Ore Geology Reviews! Collaborating with Ahmed Morad Eleish (Carnegie Science & Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute), Shaunna Morrison (Carnegie Science & Rutgers University), and Jens Klump (CSIRO) on this project has been a fantastic journey. Together, we've introduced a new geological interpolation method and developed a powerful Python package, IRWPy, to bring it to life. ✨ Flashback to a few years ago, when I was deep into developing anomaly classification methods. With Eric Grunsky's insightful advice, I shifted from passive geological interpretations to actively integrating geological features into models. That shift paved the way for what we’re now presenting: the Inverse Radius Weighting (#IRW) interpolation method, a technique that thoughtfully incorporates topography. 🔍 This method isn't just for exploration geochemistry—it's also highly applicable for urban and environmental geochemistry, and any project where contamination, mobility, transportation, and such features are crucial.
